About Me

Cherubim kwami tutu Dzeha is my name. I am 28 years old. I am the third son of my parents, who are living in Accra. I come from the Volta Region of Ghana but have lived in the north all my life with an uncle. My parents are in my hometown and are into petty trading. I like to read a lot. I am currently studying Purchasing and supply from the tertiary institution in tamale. Cost of tuition is quite high here but i am willing to finish with my studies. I have three other brothers and a sister, who is with my other uncle in the central region of Ghana. My brothers are into trading. In order to fend for myself in school, i supply fresh honey to shops and homes in the Tamale area. The profit from this is able to take care of my tuition and school books. I like listening to music during my free time. I like playing soccer too. I want to become an entrepreneur after school and set up my own import and export company.

My Business

I run a honey supply business in Tamale. My customers are usually my school mates and teachers, small shops and some individual homes. I buy my honey from a wholesaler who brings it from his bee farm in Kintampo forest, in Ghana. Fresh honey has a lot of demand in tamale because of the recent education on the adverse effects of refined sugar. Plenty people are turning to pure honey. Also they feel safe knowing it comes from a known bee farmer because some honey on the market is adulterated. Every Saturday, i go to the wholesaler and buy 200 cedis of honey; i then pour it into approximately 40 jars of medium size. I then supply to the shops and take the remaining ones to school. I sell each jar at 7 cedis. I make a profit of about 80-100 cedis each week. I use some of this money to buy jars and put stickers on it as a form of branding, for my next consignment of honey. i save some up for my school fees,I then use the rest for school books. There is demand for the honey, and if i am able to increase my quantity, i will make more profit. I sometimes have customers calling as early as Monday for more honey. I want to rent a small retail shop in tamale central to sell from there and also a motorbike for my supplies. This will go a long way to boost my business and thereby my profit.

Loan Proposal

When given this loan, i will double quantity of honey i buy from the wholesaler, buy more jars and sell more honey to my customers, especially the shops. This will double my profit. I will save as much as possible from this to be able to rent a small shop in central tamale in a few months. A well branded neat shop will attract more customers. I will be the only shop in town that sells only honey. Eventually i will buy a motor bike and use for my supplies and then a van. I am hopeful with the help of Zidisha and its generous lenders i will be able to grow my business. I will not disappoint anyone who decides to invest in me. Thank you all. God bless you all.
