About Me

My name is Caroline Wanjiku Njoroge I live in Mwea town in Kirinyaga County where Pure Aromatic Pishori Rice is grown from the only region in Kenya. I have done Bachelor of commerce in Finance . I currently supply Pure pishori rice to the hotels in other town areas mostly Nairobi who don’t have access to the rice. Currently I work in accounts and administration position with Paleah Stores Ltd, a company in Mwea that supplies sugar and other hardware items to wholesalers in Kenya.I have two(2)years experience in this position.I also visits childrens homes and take to the cereals one being Watoto Wema located in Mwea town,I would like to fund education programs of some of them in the near future. I have extensive experience in management of fast moving goods in the companies I have worked with. It is this experience and the skills I have that made me desire to own my own enterprise that i have already registered the business name as Springs Enterprises.

Supply of Aromatic Pure Pishori Rice
I have come to know the farmers and millers that supply me with good quality rice hence my rice always move, Currently I have big orders that have necessitated me to get additional funding to meet the demand. I choose to grow this business in wholesale because of the availability of the commodity all year round in the Miller Factories stores as shown by the picture’s above and the demand of Pure Pishori rice.I also pastor at Pcea churches on Sunday as and when am sent by the leaders of the church. One leader who occasionally send me is among my referees Evangelist Hexborn Muigai.

If funded I intend to repay the loan in good time from the profits generated and plough back some to extend the business into wholesale supply of foodstuff e.g. rice and also get into mushroom farming because of their nutritional value and big profit margin with demand extending supply in hotels in Kenya. Hence hotels will be my big clients in this business. With the growth of my supply business I will help orphanage children affected access education and foodstuff since my father struggled to educate me and also do Masters of science in strategic management that will enable me advice companies Ceo’s mostly start-ups on how to strategize in their businesses.

In Kenya Pure pishori rice is grown in only one region Mwea town in Kirinyaga county.Hence, there a big demand for the rice as it is Aromatic with a nice smell mostly demanded in Tourist hotels, Italian Hotels and Indian hotels. The buyers have no problem with the price since they make alot of profit from the same.

Calculations
The buying price of a kilogram of pure Pishori rice at the millers is usd1.15 ksh 115,the selling price is usd1.30 ksh 130 bringing a profit of usd0.15-0.20 per kg or 15-20 ksh and almost ksh1000-1500per 50kg bag or 10-15usd 1000-1500ksh profit per bag.Transport cost is usd1.50per200kg bag that is low.
I intend to supply 10 bag of 50kg bags weekly of pure Pishori rice to big hotels in Nairobi city to start with and to individuals living in the high end market e.g.Karen.with the funding I will receive and later extend to other places and increase supply to other big towns e.g Mombasa. Am Optismtic this business will enable me buy a Pick-up and later fleet of vehicles that I will not have to lease one. Kindly help me realize this dream and our good God will bless you. The terms of payment will be lately one week after deliver to give hotels time to sell to consumers.

Project Proposal

My name is Caroline Wanjiku.
I am based at Mwea Town.
I grow and mill rice for retailers and hotels. I also buy in large scale from Millers and distribute to hoteliers and retailers.
The funding will assist me pay labourers who will help in carrying paddy of rice from the farm to the milling centre.
The quantities milled will be sold in hotels and to the shops where I normally have consistent orders.
The cash that I receive will be used in paying school fees for my kid and repaying the loan.
Normally I sell a 90kg bag of rice at Ksh 11,700 and the cost involved in milling is around Ksh 1000 which is a profitable business.
