My names are John Gachambi wathimba, Born in the 1984 in Nyandarua county, central province in Kenya. I went through my primary education in Nyandarua where i obtained my KCPE certificate, later I went through the KCSE where I obtained my certificate. I worked parttime until 2006 where i joined Egerton University for my degree course. I am the 7th in a family of 7. Am married with one child aged 2yrs. I am currently working as a teacher at Muruaki secondary school teaching Business studies and mathematics as major subjects.
Currently am operating a small poultry firm at Rugongo village, my home place with the help of my wife since i got temporary job as a teacher. I was introduced to Zidisha by my friend who is beneficiary. After studying carefully how it works and going through testimonials from members who have borrowed from the same. i became interested. In my small business venture i keep kienyeji poultry birds which produce eggs that have high demand than the grade ones (layers) I collect about 20 eggs, this tranlates to 600 eggs per month and I ussually sell at wholesale at Ksh 12. This averages to about 7200 sh. per month and from this am able to buy feeds for the poultry. This is a good business venture since my wife who is unemployed is able to earn income and assist me for family upkeep.
With zidisha loan, am going to purchase poultry feeders as I want to confine my layers, then am going to construct a perch that these birds will be staying. With this i am going to check on diseases and also increase production since feeding will be controlled. I want to begin with the birds that i already have and in few months i will result to better breeds than i have at the moment. I already have a market that is not satisfied fully so i intend to fill the market gap by ensuring that the egg production increases by increasing the number of birds that i have. with the help of my wife i know this project is going to be a success.
