About Me

I am the second born of a family of three. We live with our mum at Maungu,Taita County with our mum.I am a self-reliant and motivated youth residing at coastal part of the republic of kenya.

I completed my primary education in the year,2009 and joined Kenyatta high School, taita with assistance of a well-wisher who offered to support me throughout my Secondary school until i completed in the year,2013.

Currently am doing photography as my profession an activity i started back while i was in class eight..i used to take photos in events in churches and at school thus developing my interest in this field. It is my dream to study ICT & Media studies at university level.Immediately after i did my Kenya Certificate of Secondary education exam I engaged in photography to avoid indulging in activities which can ruin my future easily.

I love challenging, motivating and empowering the youth in the society to wake up and do their best in life. While in Form 2 I wrote a motivational book in title 'Arise and Shine'.

this book has really impacted people's lives especially the youth.I go to school during inspirational talks and socialize with students in many school and i have learned that people have a great power inside them but it is meaningless unless taught and inspired to do their best.I visit schools during the weekends and motivate them.

mostly I work in functions such as school functions, funerals, birthdays and weddings.I have learned a lot in our community through my business which demands a faithful attendant who delivers the services to clients in time. This has made me friendly to them and others refer my services to their friends ,I feel happy when somebody tells me,'i was directed to you by so and so because your services are cheap and best'.

Last but not the least passion is the driving force in entrepreneurship.Do what you love. Not the other way round.Love what you do.

My Business

As I had said there before i am a photographer. After completion of my O-Level education I didn’t ask for employment instead i decided to be my own boss through my skills and wit I got back in school. I remember my mum telling me,'go to school and learn to be your own boss'.

I aspire to study journalism at University Level starting from next year January.i was to join September this year but due to financial instability i never made it instead i deferred until January,2015.

Professionally,I am a photographer but sometimes my clients request me to make flowers in functions, offices and their home. My services are cheap and best since I deal with different kind of customers.

In a day I can make Us Dollars 5.62956 (Ksh.500),In a month am able to make around Us Dollars 134.83 (Ksh.12, 000). I wanted to expand my business by starting a business of supplying stationery equipments to schools around .In my savings I have a total of US Dollar 112.591(Ksh. 10,000) which is not enough to start the business since it needs around of Ksh. 20,000 (US Dollars 225.182 for the start.

My business will support in catering for my expenses including pocket money and other necessities when I join University. This loan will help me in expanding my business and do well than before.

I will also create employment after sometime which is one of my goals. I want to become a regional reliable job-creator in our country. I will appreciate for your loan and work hard to achieve my dreams as a young entrepreneur.Currently I sell flowers, make receipt books, student ID cards, report books and other items which my customers demand. I also planning to venture into poultry farming as I have a large enough land to cater for the same.

During this festive season my business will thrive because of the demand of photography services, flowers, among others.

Loan Proposal

I am a young,self-relient individual who love being self-employed. I am photographer who aspires to study journalism at college level.
I look forward to any well-wisher willing to offer me a loan which I will repay in time to do so.
Kindly help me achieve my dream as a job Creator in our county and Kenya at large.

    Dear Zidisha.
Hello,i should first start by appreciating and considering me for a loan you offered last year. Thanks a lot for your goal of supporting the youths and people who cannot raise capital to start a business.
As i had informed you that i joined campus this year January,we have kicked in with studies.i am taking diploma in journalism at one of the leading universities in Kenya after a a year long struggle and desire to join campus.
Due to this circumstance i have been unable to repay my loan on time thus resulting to misunderstanding and confusion amongst us.
i hope you will adhere with my request to adjust my loan repayment amount from kes 370 to kes190 which i will be able to repay and avoid delaying since i promised to abide by the rules and regulation of Zidisha when i was assigning for a loan request.
    Thank you in advance.
    Best regards.
    Harrison Kamwana

      Hi Harrison,
I am happy for you to reschedule. I think you have to start the process in your account though, by logging in and going to the "Reschedule Loan" page. It may also say something about "Change Installment Amount."
If you can't find the way to do it, post a question here: forum.zidisha.org/forums/bo...
and someone from Zidisha should be able to help

Actually I have looked at the repayment schedule, and it seems it has now changed successfully already - check whether that is the schedule you want, otherwise if it still has not changed then someone on the borrower forums may be able to help you.

This festive season has a die-hard season for me as i was preparing to join university after a long term preparation since i cleared my secondary education.
It s my appreciation to the almighty lord and my lender who offered a loan which really supported me in preparation and buying of decoration material to decorate a background.

Unfortunately the little amount that i got i pumped some in my school fees while remaining with the little that i will be using as pocket money during my stay of 3 months here at the campus.

I promise to repay my loan when i get, will be repaying it even if not all amount(370) at once i will see how i will be doing it.

    Wow!!
I would wish to pass my sincere gratitude to the founder and all members of Zidisha for their day to day assistance they offer to the youths who are unable to raise capital to start a business.

Thanks a lot to Eoinzeis who has offered to lend me Ksh.4393/= I had applied for to enable to purchase materials to make flowers and buy background for taking photos during this festive season.
Many customers prefer talking photos with a background as it makes the photo look beautiful.
