About Me

My name is Abigael Munala, a first born in a family of seven children I studied Gender Studies and Psychology at Kenyatta University Kenya. I reside in Eastleigh Nairobi county. I have always had this passion of entrepreneurship so i started by volunteering to teach youths on ways of starting small businesses at a local youth empowerment center after sometime i started my own food delivery service to offices which I have been doing for 10 months .This is a good niche since most people find it hard to get good quality and affordable food. With the proceeds I have been able to purchase durable plates and carrying bags which I use for delivery, and I have also been able to employ one youth who helps with the delivery. Also intend to employ more people who will be delivering the food to various places within Nairobi Town thus creating employment and also increasing my profit margin.
I applied for my first zidisha loan and from that amount I was able to incorporate selling fruit salads and juices which really increased my earnings. With the money from my business I usually plough most of it back into the business and I also save some as I intend to find a good place and put up a restaurant in the near future and employ as many young people as possible thus tackling the problem of unemployment. Ill also take the initiative to mentor other young people into this business so that they can afford a decent source of living .

My Business

Thank you for the initial loan that i had been given it went a long way in increasing my profits as i incorporated the delivery of fruit salads and juices .Given the loan I would repay it using the profits accrued from my food delivery business. Food is a very fast moving commodity especially if you take the liberty of taking it directly to your customers and also if you prepare tasty and serve very reasonable quantity, since most people in offices rarely find time to go out and eat as the one hour lunch break allocated to most employees sometimes is not enough to walk to the eating joint eat and return back to work on time .Given the fact that most food joints in Nairobi central business District usually charge quite high and those that are little bit fairer are located mostly in downtown areas rendering someone who works in the uptown areas not to have adequate time to walk to such restaurants .My food is quite affordable many people tend to buy and others who are sometimes too tired or have no adequate me to prepare and cook in the evening instead of taking fast foods on a daily basis they tend to request I also pack for them to carry home for dinner . I usually provide morning snacks since most offices are provided with10 o’clock tea and I also deliver packed lunch, juices and fruit salads .Currently I was able to get one middle size company to give me the tender of supplying lunch to their employees which was a major boost considering I have a whole year with possibility of renewal .To Maintain my clientele those who may lack money and they still want to eat we usually sign an agreement with them and their Human Resource Officer that once they are paid end month they deduct their bill which has really given me an upper edge .The major risk that I face is sometimes not delivering the food on time as I have to pass by various offices first which limits the new orders I can take since I would not like to disappoint any of them. In the future as I expand I would like to hire more employees who can aide in the delivery thus I can even be able to serve the people outside the Central Business District which will be quite an achievement on my part .On a good day I make around 20 Us Dollars in profits after paying all my expenses .
With the loan I would like to buy a more powerful blender and juicer which can be able to crush ice and work for longer without getting heated up. The juice and smoothies are very marketable as they are east to carry light meal especially for weight watchers and its quite affordable

Blender $57
Juicer $103

Total $160

Loan Proposal

with the loan id like to buy a blender and a juicer for my food delivery business the blender costs$57 while the juicer $103 the total amounts to $160.
with these items they will boost my business since i will be able to make more juice and smoothies and be in a position to contract more young people to distribute thus earning some money for themselves.
lenders should support me as i will be able to make life better not only for myself and also the youths that i will employ . given tat my long term plan is to own my own restaurant and train other youths in this venture from the profits accrued it will also bring a step ahead to archive this,
