Merry Christmas TomF925! Thanks so very much for all the support you have provided so far. Thanks also for following my posts. The very first day you believed in my social enterprise and loaned me money was the day to make it possible for hundreds of household I serve have access to affordable clean energy. The Rent –to-own program I introduced was to help families/households living on less than a dollar who continues to use kerosene for lighting have an option of lighting at an affordable cost. Many poor household I serve fail to buy a solar lamp on a cash and carry basis of $13 and this proved to be a barrier to reach the people who need it most; poor household in rural and slum communities of Chipata. Yes since our introduction of the Rent to own program 95% of our customers pay for the lamp direct into my mobile account which makes the administrative cost very low so that our solar lamps can be sold at the lowest cost! My Rent to Own Program is the cheapest for the customers because with them paying $0.10 every day for the lamp they save $0.04 every day from kerosene purchase and $0.2 every day from phone charging! As you say it this solar lamps are dangerous free and more healthy! In Chipata alone, we have 82% of the population is not connected to electricity and still use traditional energy sources. Many rely on kerosene lamps for lighting. In Eastern Province alone a total of 1,200,000 still use traditional energy sources like kerosene which is harmful for their health and eats up their income! Kerosene also contributes to global warming; create risk of burns, pneumonia, and bronchitis and lung cancer. A total of 10,000,000 people in Zambia need to be moved from Kerosene use to Solar Lamp! It’s a huge social business opportunity! Just in my Province of Eastern Province a total of 1,200,000 need to be moved from Kerosene use to Solar lamp! My Rent to Own Program has the potential to reach these customers much quicker than most models that are currently been used. With our model, even people in the most remote areas will have access to this life saving product. How can Africa Leap and Chris Jones help? Am sure with your passion to displace kerosene use in rural and slum communities of Africa together we can do more. I have a write up of how I see my business helping 30,000 households switch from the use of kerosene to solar lamps in 2 years and over 135,000 households to benefit in the next five years impacting the lives of 790,254 in rural and slum communities! We can do this project together as partners. My social business, Africa Leap and Chris Jones! I also suggest I send you, Africa Leap and Chris Jones my project plan and how easy it can be for me to repay the loan if it is issued by Africa leap as an Impact Investment! If you are okey by it you can provide me with the email address for Africa Leap and yourself so that I send my plan. I already have for Chris Jones and I can send it to all of you as a cc so that we both are on the same page. Thanks for your support and your interest in my social business!
