About Me

My name is Bernard Omondi Onyango. I have 4 brothers and 1 sister. The lady is currently sitting her high school final exam. My family and I live in Embakasi, Nairobi.

I went to Kagwa Primary School in Rarieda District. I passed and joined Makasembo High School. Consequently, I joined Intraglobal Training Institute in Nairobi. After college, I worked in as a volunteer teacher. I then started writing on a freelance basis when I could not secure a job. I bought my first laptop using my first loan from Zidisha. After article writing for some time, I took another loan and used it to buy 6 more computers for writers. I then trained and employed more writers. This worked well initially but when I discovered I could not retain writers for long due to competition even after training them, I used the computers to open a cybercafe. I want to invest more in the same business.

I also support different members of my community from my pocket. We also learn God's word every week in my house to inspire our members to look forward to a better future and work hard. In addition, I send them inspirational messages via my phone on a daily basis. People need hope to be able to transform into productive people in the spiritual and physical world.

My Business

My main business currently is offering cybercafe services. I started with the loan I took from Zidisha last year. Initially, I was writing articles online. I then accidentally learned that I can make more money in this new business. I have 6 Computers today and want to buy 10 more computers.

I will use the profits to grow the business, take care of my children's education, and support various community programs geared towards supporting the needy. I will be able to support and employ some of them.

Loan Proposal

I will buy a laptop so that I can train and employ a professional writer to help me do some of the work at home. The laptop costs $360.

I used the last loan to buy a backup battery, and I have realized the potential of the business. I currently make a net profit of approximately $80 per week, which I use to meet my bills and ensure the business remains productive. The income is steady, so I plan to use part of it to repay this loan.

I also look forward to make more profits after training the writer. I will advertise the position on Facebook and other social media sites. Experience shows that it is easily to get the right candidates on Facebook within one two two days.

Additionally, since the training is intended just to supplement the already acquired formal training, I will use few resources: 2 hours per day for 4 days on Skype and Google Chat.

I expect to make more money out of this arrangement and impact the life of the writer, who will be able to operate independently in future if he or she shows commitments in the work.
I kindly request for your financial support, and I will pay back in time. Thank you.
