My name is Joshua Onyango Ogolla, I am a born again christian living in Nakuru,Kenya. I grew up in a Miwani village in Kisumu County. I am the forth born in a family of five. My father retired from the police hence he lacked adequate funds to raise my fees, posing a cumbersome challenge. I attended Okago Primary school in the village home. We depended on our mother's small business of selling fish in open market. I used to help her over the weekend and during the holidays. This helped us to meet our daily needs. There were not enough resources to further my education beyond primary school. I therefore left school and joined my mother in her business. There I gained the much needed experience to start my own business of selling fish and started saving to enable me expand my business.
I did the business at home for four years then my Aunt told me to come to Nakuru where this business can do better because of the bigger population.I went there and began my business with my initial savings of five thousand Kenyan shillings. I chose this type of business because I found it favorable and I did not struggle to access the raw fish when I had sold my stock.
I got married and the proceeds from business have helped in the education of my four children. Three are still in primary school and one has finished secondary school, waiting to join a teachers training college.
If granted this loan I will buy the fish from the Lake Victoria and supply them in the nearby restaurants and supermarkets within Nakuru Town.
The ministry of health advised the public to eat fish as this is good for their health and this has made the commodity to be on high demand. I will use part of my profits to educate my children and improve my business by adding stock.
I wish to add more stock for the products that i sell which is fish that i buy all the way from Kisumu. This is because my customer base has expanded and i need to satisfy all my customers in order for me to realize the growth that i desire.
