About Me

I grew up in a family of four, i am the eldest in the family, with a sibling of two sisters and a brother. I lost my parents at a early age and this taught me to be responsible and care for my young ones, i would go to school without meals, but would try hard to get something in the evening for my sisters and brother to eat, in the aid of my grandmother who also was not able. It was hard times for us and sometimes i was forced to at times dig or work for some homes to get food for my siblings or get a fee for school.
I learn a lot in childhood and learn to do something in order to get a meal or a fee for my studies.
It was not easy even for my grandmother who was so supportive and caring. People in the neighborhood couldn't even support since it was not our culture. it was tough times. Helping out on a duty became my hobby since i learn it was hard work that gives.

My Business

I sell materials and handbags and these has helped me have exposure of beauty. i came to learn that women loves to be unique in dressing and in how they look in ceremonies, so i decided to identify some materials that come into the country and sell all in different patterns, and design. My cost range between KES. 800 and KES. 1200.
This has helped me educate and support my younger ones fully and also given me opportunity to go back for my studies, i decided to put shame a side and go back to the lowest level, and am coming up with good marks. An so decided to work hard and pay my fees and my sisters. My business its so encouraging cause at least people like african wear each time they have a celebration,.
My profit has help me pay my tuition fees and my sisters fees too. It has also helped me put up new stall to sell my clothes, handbags and i've also introduced second hand shoes.

Loan Proposal

I want to build an inbuilt drawers for displaying my materials and giving them as per quality. Also wish to bring in all types of materials from all part of African country. And is left with some cash wish to add on earings, breast lest, handbags and shoes to match each material. This will enable me have a lovely set up of shelves for my clients to have a easy way in selecting what they love.

    Hi Dorothy,
Your fabrics are beautiful. I would be very much interested in learning about your materials you have for sale. Especially if they are handmade locally.

      Hi Dorothy,

It's fine (and advisable) to let your lenders know when a payment you've made has not yet reflected on your account, if it's been more than a week since you paid. However, the payment teams cannot possibly monitor the thousands of borrower Discussion pages that there are, and I as one person cannot either. There are different payment teams for each of the countries Zidisha serves.

What you always should do to communicate about a payment missing from your account, to get it looked into, is send an email to the attention of the payment team for your country at "[email protected]".

Please allow at least three business days (Monday through Friday) before writing in again on the same topic, to give the volunteer staff a chance to reply.

In your email (not here on your Discussion page), in addition to providing the date of the payment & the amount of the payment (which is fine to provide here, too, of course), please also provide the Transaction Identification Number of the payment (in your email only), and attach a clear copy of your receipt to the email, too, if possible.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

      Kind regards,
      Laurie
      The Zidisha Team

    Hi Zidisha,
Sorry for my longtime silence. I began the year badly. I was involved in a bad road accident, leaving me and some of my family members with some injuries, and I also lost two brothers-in-law. This has caused me to be silent, but thanks to God, I've recovered and am ready to continue with my business. Pray for me with my family....
    Regards,
    Dorothy
