About Me

Iam a 43year old single mother of two children aged 20 and 11. i come from a large family of eight. We are orphans, having lost our parents some years back.My father passed on in January, 1991 and my mother passed on in February, 1999. I live in the same house as my business thus trying to save on paying extra rent. My first born has cleared high school and is waiting for his O-level final national exams results and my daughter is in class six. We are a God fearing family and this has helped us reach our goals by not relying on family support but by putting our faith on God. We live in a rented house and pay rent of Kshs. 20,000 per month. The increament in rent is as a result of the number of classes i have added. I have provided employment to five teachers and one surbordinate staff. echoes of joy has been our source of income for the last seven years and all this is thanks to the bold step i took to be self reliant.

My Business

Echoes of joy daycare centre is a nursery school taking care of children aged between 3-7 years. We have six running classes, baby, middle and top class. We have also started offering lower class education in standard one, two and three. Echoes of joy opened its doors in the year 2009 and has been running since. The community around Mwariki estate do appreciate and support the fact that we brought early childhood education close to their homes. We also run a vacation bible study for all children in the surrounding area and we do not charge. It is meant to bring children closer to God and also to keep them busy over the holidays. this has been a big success. I am so grateful to all my supporters in zidisha organisation for your immense support. I have been able to support my family and at the same time bring education to my community, may God bless you always.

Loan Proposal

am soo happy for zidisha for giving me my first loan, i will use my first loan to expand my business to accomodate more kids, through purchase of more furnitures(desks) and tables.the room i operate from is very small i intend to expand it more.also am faced by a major problem of urinal facility structure which is temporary and require repairs frequently.i will use the money effeciently to my best to improve the facility to its best form so that i can increase the number of students

I am sorry to reduce my repayment. This is because I have already budgeted for all the school fees received and 2500 will be straining the budget. Am grateful for your support and I will resume higher payment soon as am stable. Thank you in advice.

I am so grateful to the lenders for the opportunity to grow my business and nurture children. With the second loan, i was able to accommodate more children after increasing the number of tables and chairs. The increment in children means more income and that is how i was able to increase my installments and thus finished paying. With the beginning of a new year, i am able to put up a new classroom thus anticipating a further enrollment. Below is a pictorial view of the end of the year graduation ceremony which was a great success.

I am glad to report that the year 2015 started with a lot of difficulties. The number of children was small.
Am happy to say that at the close of the year I have 96 children.
Thank you so much for your support.
    May God bless you always.

Am sorry that I have been forced by circumstances to reduce my weekly loan repayment to kshs 200 per week. This is due to furnishings of the two new classrooms. It has not been easy. Am happy to report that the classrooms are fully furnished. Our term ended on 7th November 2014 and we resume classes on 7th January 2015. As soon as we settle back I will repay the difference in full. During the holiday, I will be painting and doing major renovations to all the classes. May God bless you for supporting me in my endeavors. Am humbled to be a beneficiary of your noble course.

    Dear Zidisha team,
I am humbled and delighted to be part of the beneficially of your organization. the second loan has helped me furnish my two new classrooms and am grateful. it came when we were a month to closing day and this made me default in payment and my rescheduling trial were in futile since the system was down. iam sincerely sorry and its my prayer that this will not happen in future.
my source of income is in school fees and thus when on April holiday my account was unable to honour the pledge. i am sorry for all the inconvinience.
May God bless you always for your support.

    Ms. Muraya,

I see you are Eveline Ooga's VM. Ms. Ooga is now over 3 months in arrears ($88) and has not communicated with her lenders in a very long time.

Could you please check up on her and see what the problem is? We would also like to know when she will resume her repayments.

    Thanks,
    Cris

Hi. I am humbled. Iam also grateful for understanding and applauding my efforts. It has not been easy but i am trusting God for a breakthrough. I love working with children and i know that one day i will have my whole dream come alive.
I am sorry i took so long to reply. My financial situation over our April holiday was down and thus i was not able even to access a cyber cafe in order to reply.
May God bless you and your daughter as we walk together in this journey of assisting children.

Hi. I am glad i choose to be assisted by your organization. With the loan i got i was able to build a urinal for the little boys in my school at a cost of Kshs. 13,000. I also bought a counter cum shelf for the baby class at a cost of Kshs. 8,000, 2 tables at a cost of Kshs. 12,000 and 20 second hand plastic baby chairs at a cost of Kshs. 6,000. With the urinal the little boys are able to wee wee in their own little room separate from the girls. The baby class was clumsy with no place to put their bags but now its quite a presentable class. No more congestion with the new tables and seat.
Thank you so much for the loan and I am looking forward to start paying back as soon as my grace period is over.
May God bless each and every person that makes this whole process possible.
