About Me

My name is Julius Ndegwa Kinuthia. I was born and brought up in Muranga, one of the 47 counties of Kenya. This is a farming area where we have two rain seasons. We grow food crops such as maize, beans and potatoes as well as cash coffee which is the main cash crop in this area.

I am married with one child who is two years old and yet to decide what he wants to be in future. We are a happy family though we do not have much material wealth but we work very hard to improve our livelihood.

My Business

I am a farmer and this is what I have done since I left school more than 10 years ago. I grow food crops for now but I hope to grow cash crops in future if I manage to get a bigger piece of land.

I also keep chicken and I am a proud owner of 2 cows. These are very important because I am able to sell eggs and milk and get paid on daily basis. I use this money to meet the many needs of my family.

My weekly income from this venture is about USD 40 but this can go up significantly when I harvest the crops.

Loan Proposal

I will use this money to buy building materials for building a modern cowshed. I plan to roof it so as to protect the animals from the elements. The budget is as follows:

iron sheets USD 45
Nails USD 5
Timber and poles USD 30
Labor USD 30

I have made some savings which I will add up to this amount to enable me accomplish this project.

Thank you.
