The applicant Amigun Folarin said he is very angry with zidisha,that he always pay all his loan on time but the reason he is angry is that,he is expecting zidisha to refund the money they charge him for insurance since he have paid the money.That he work very hard for his money and wont be happy that his sweat should go to waste.That since he pay back his loan,zidisha was supposed to refund the money they charge him as insurance incase e did not pay,that was why he refused to pay.Nithertheless he said he will pay by month end after talking to him

Regarding the Credit-Risk Fee you wrote about here: www.zidisha.org/forum-threa... [forum-thread/7982], it works like "insurance". When people pay an insurance premium to a health-insurance company, or an automobile-insurance company, or any other type of insurance company, that money goes into a pool of funds to reimburse for claims. Nobody ever gets their premiums refunded to them. The fact that those "premiums" here did used to get refunded was very unusual. Unfortunately, defaults have been occurring too often, which is why the fund had to be created in the first place. It didn't used to exist here years ago, and even when loans here were very inexpensive, too many borrowers unfortunately still chose to default, which hurts borrowers and lenders and Zidisha Staff. It hurts everyone. And now, defaulting still has continued at such a high rate that apparently the platform cannot afford to refund any of the payments made into that fund from loans taken out on or after the 17th of December 2018; otherwise, the policy would not have changed. You can read about it in the "Announcements" section of the Forum where the Director posted the change to her policy regarding the Credit-Risk Fee.
