I am a business minded lady, Zambian citizen aged 23, a mother of two children - a boy and a girl. I am a daughter of Mr and Mrs Gabriel Chimalo, we were born two girls. My father died when I was 5 years old and by then I was still doing pre-school, so my mother a widow supported me from grade 1 upto grade 12 but I didn't write grade 12 examination due to the fact that by the time I was supposed to pay the examination fee my mother - the bread winner was sick, hence no one came in to pay for my examination and that was how I stopped school. After I stopped school without knowing what to do I found myself married at the age of 20. That is when I saw life to be unfair, when I gave birth to my second child a son, by the time my son was two months old my husband was accused of being involved in drugs and was charged 10 months imprisonment from April, 2016. And I was left alone with my two kids, I started business with little capital that I had, but because I had so much needs that time, was difficult for my
From the very inception of my business I have been selling clothes of different types. I like selling children's second hand clothes Commonly known in our local language SALAULA meaning CHOOSE and GET. Children clothes sell like hot cakes and have more profit.
A clothe for a child sale at $2.5 each and when I invest $140 to buy a bell of children's clothes, after selling I will make a profit of 100%. Initially I use the profit to sustain my small family and occasionally prepare food for my husband who is in prison. And when I am funded by Zidisha I am planning to use part of the profit to send my children to school, reinvest in growing the business and I will send myself back to school.
When I am funded by lenders I will use the loan money as follows:
1. I will buy a bell of children's clothes at $140
2. Transport at $30
This business and the profit that I will make will greatly help me continue my education and send back my child to school. And I am expecting to make 100% profit with this business.
