About Me
Am a female Kenyan citizen who can communicate very well both in spoken and written languages of English, Kiswahili and Kalenjin(Native) born in a village called Telanet found in Kericho county in the year 1991 and started my early education in the year 1997, proceeded to primary education between the year 1999 and 2007, joined for my secondary education in the year 2008 at Sosiot Girls High School and completed in the year 2011. Currently I’m a student at Maseno University pursuing a degree course in Fashions and Designs. In a family of six children am the third born and at an early age I developed a lot of interests with new cloths design that always gives an impression. During my free time I like reading novels, watching documentaries and designing new outfits designs using my laptop. My father is a tailor and has a business at kapsoit centre where he usually design uniform for various schools, so I developed a great interests for that because I used to assist my father in measuring clothes materials for the schools uniforms and also selecting the best materials for him that are normally durable and of high quality. The reason for seeking more financial assistance is that our father is growing old and there is need to expand the business so as to generate more income for the family and also assist in educating my other siblings who are still in upper primary school and secondary school. This support will be entirely be used to purchase more materials of different designs and quality so as to meet the demand of school uniforms that is constantly increasing, employ other three personnel who will assist us to improve the efficiency on meet the customers demand on the stipulated time to avoid creating inconveniences to our clients.
My Business
The business already exist at Kapsoit Market center that was initially started my father and currently there is need to improve so as to offer quality services to our customers in the latest clothing technology and designs to meet the demand that is ever increasing. Materials for different schools will be selected based on color and design for each school. Shirts material especially color white normally goes for $20 per meters, so the requirements for one school for about 200 students will need over 100 meters and this will cost about $2000 for the shirts in only one school. For the trousers materials especially color black normally goes for $30 per meters, for one school that is about 100 students will need over 150 meters and this will cost about $4500. The time which normally the demand is very high as from January to march every year because this is the period that normally school in our country are opened after the December holidays and also when Form ones are joining there new schools. Currently there are orders for over 10 schools that the business is currently working for their orders and probably with more financial support; we will increase the orders to about 20 schools in this year of 2015. The profits for the business will be entirely increased if we work on more orders in that normally for the 10 orders from different schools; we normally get profits of between $800 and $1000 per month after deducting the monthly overhead for rent at $60, materials at $7000 and salaries and wages at $200. The profits from the business have been normally used to pay school fees, small scale farming and other family needs including medical needs, transport and entertainment.
