I am a nineteen year old Kenyan citizen. I am the first born in a family of two children. I live with my parents in Buru Buru, near Harambee Primary School. My brother, Mwangi, is in form three. I cleared high school last year, 2012.
I hold a certificate in Computer Packages.
I have my M-pesa business just at our home, right outside Harambee Primary School. I choose to venture into the business after clearing my computer packages early in January 2013. I talked to my parents to give me some capital to purchase the M-pesa line as we own some shops in Buru Buru, hence having a room to put up the business was easy.
I decided to work as I awaited my results and also through my earnings (profit), I'd be able to cater for part of my school fees as I joined the University mid 2014.
M-pesa is a mobile money transfer business.
My business is an M-pesa Agent. Mpesa services are provided by Safaricom, one of the leading telecommunication firms in Kenya.
M-pesa provides the platform for people to send and receive money via their telephones. This was introduced when The Chief Excecutive Officer was Mr. Michael Joseph. (More on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M-Pesa)
Where my business is located is a very busy place. We have a school, market, homes, restaurants. I am strategically placed and since M-pesa is the common mode of money transfer due even to its convenience.
I offer fast and reliable services, and always ensure that I open up early and on time.
The business is profitable in that for every transaction, the least amount I get is ksh. 20. Within a day I manage to get Ksh. 2000 minimum and on a good business day I get as much as Ksh. 5000.
M-pesa faces the risk of money fraud. In Kenya there have been reported cases of money fraud by clients receiving erroneous text messages claiming that someone had sent them money incorrectly yet it was just a hoax.
Basically, the business doesnt require extensive training and if with a good location, its something that really can earn you some good money. Also, it doesn't require a much big space to operate. Its flexible and easy to run/ operate.
Dear Lenders,
I highly appreciate the opportunity granted to me to seek for a loan from you.
I will use the loan granted by you in the following criteria:
Ksh. 6,000 will be used to purchase a scanner, which is incorporated in the printing and photocopying work.
Also , I will use Ksh. 13,000 to purchase a Cannon Digital Camera so that I can also be taking passports as here in Buru Buru we only have like 2 photo studios, hence I will add a force in the market. This means out of the Ksh . 17,172 loan from you ,I will top it up with Ksh . 2000 to purchase the camera.
Please fund my proposal.
