About Me

My name is kennedy oluoch oyuech..i was born and raised in kisumu rural....part of my schooling was in kisumu and in rift valley.
I have also believed in hard work and dedication in all my endervous and that is how i have been overcoming any huddles in my life.
Am a professional teacher, besides this I also do farming for subsistence and for business, I am also thinking of starting up a poultry farming,so far I have ten chicken that I have started with,am looking forward to expanding this business as time goes by.

I like socialising and reading novels on my free time

My Business

I am a professional teacher who teaches in the locality, this gives me an ample time to engage in other income generating activities because over the weekend and on holidays I have plenty of time...As a side hustle I engage in agribusiness... that is agricultural activities for use and for sale.... I grow maize Which I supply to local market and schools... which sustains me well.... I also recently started a poultry farming, which is still on the trial phase, I started with ten chicken which I am optimistic to expand as time goes by and I have adequate funding... I do a free range poultry farming but if am able to expand the capacity I'll be able to structure it properly.

Loan Proposal

Teaching is not the profession for a perfectionist. You need to strike a balance between SUBJECT/SCHOOL MEAN with PERSONAL/FAMILY/HOME MEAN. There is always something more you can do. Don't get me wrong – I am not undermining thorough, dedicated, inventive and innovative planning. I'm not in favour of teachers who cut corners. But I also hate seeing people who join the profession and start destroying their health and their personal life. It's all about balance. While some might argue that it is worth staying up all night preparing lessons, I would argue against this. Teachers' health matters, as does longevity in the profession. This is something I try and stress to young teachers. Yes – it's great to be enthusiastic. And yes – you can stay up until 11pm designing that fireworks lesson or marking the books till they're dripping with red. But is that sustainable for more than a decade? I am talking from experience. I graduated with B.ED. Science (Maths/Physics) honours at K.U & taught established schools where I even recorded means of 10+. As long as I had students & school at heart, I realised that the government & TSC never cared. I wanted to drive, stay in a good house in the city & save enough for my retirement & my kids. All was vanity. When I resigned after earning a job at KNEC, I could see the light. My salary changed from 30k to 156k. When I completed my Masters through school based program & was awarded a scholarship to California, I never regretted either. As I studied for my PHD, I was offered a job by the same university where I used to earn a weekly pay of 2035 US Dollars (ksh. 200k). When I completed PHD, I moved to corporate world. It's not irresponsible to look after your own health. I know society expects a lot from teachers, but don’t hesitate to create time to bond with your spouse, kids & the larger family. Take a rest & breath. Teaching is not a bed of roses. Always have something economically extra to do. During holidays, enrol for a program in the University for your betterment. The time you will be transferred, retire or dismissed you will not carry that mean to your home. Unless unavoidable, Sundays must be kept holy. As a teacher, you are the most important resource in the school. You cannot perform optimally if you are ill, stressed, burned out or unhappy. I don't want you few years from now to be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. Get away from the comfort zone whether learners, principal or tsc love you.
