I am Velma Kagonya.I am single mother of twins. My late husband passed on while on duty in somali land. I am the only child in my family ,my parents passed on when I was young and grew up in my my uncles home. I went to Musingu Primary school and Joined moding secondary school, i then joined Busia teachers college for a course in early childhood education.
I completed my course and passed well but did not get a job. I started teaching as unpaid teacher at a private nursery school , after gaining the much require experienced . I talked to a teacher who owned a small room and she agreed to lease me his one room on credit so that i could start my school and pay her later.I registered the school and started operations ,I got 10 pupils and was able to pay rent and sooner I admitted more and more students and the business went well.I am planning to expand it in future by buying land to build my own school.
I am from the banyore community of kenya and it is a mountaneous are and rain is rear.most of the people here depend on quarry business.
My twins want to be pilots when they grow up,I am hopeful that their dreams will come true.
I love children and I spend much of my time with kids.
I run Bright Future nursery school that provides excellent education to the children.Children are very delicate and so I handle them with care to make them enjoy learning and grow up liking education.
I provide playing grounds for the kids and give them some food so that they dont fill hungry, all these is geared towards giving the children the best education.
I choose the business because I have always loved kids and wish to be part of them.
I spend $100 on rent and my revenues are average $250 per month. I use my revenues to take care of my twins, pay for my basics and educate my niece who is in final year in primary school.
I wish to borrow $200 that would aid the purchase of utensils for preparation of meals for the kids. I have noticed the kids concentration is always low after 10 am and would wish to introduce porridge at 10am so as to boost the concentration. I would use the money to buy cooking pots ,and cups to make these programme successful. Thank you in advance
