About Me

My Name is Lina Kirigua, the only daughter was born in 1990. When I was 5 years old my father died and I have been raised by a single parent my mother upto where I am now. I hail from the central part of the Kenyan state a Meru in tribe. I have done a Diploma in Journalism and Mass Communication at Kenya Institute of Mass Communication and also a certificate in Information Technology. I am a Christian and my current residence is Majengo Mapya Likoni. I started my business because I felt the people around where I reside needed to acquire my services, so rather than them travelling for long distances to get them I opted for launching my business so that it may be beneficial to the society. Actually what I purchase from my earnings are essential components my business may require, like upgrading new machines and addition of other services.

My Business

Linka Computer Services is a computer centre, where we offer:-
Typing, printing, photocopy, internet, scanning, lamination etc. We are located in the outskirts of Likoni and in spacious office. Based on the fact that the rate of computer literacy is below I came up with the idea of forming a computer centre. Even though I have fewer machines but I hope the Zidisha team will be there to assist. My clients prefer my business because it’s a basic requirement as in anybody must have a knowhow of computers that may at least help them when undertaking future assignments especially when at work. The business is profitable because the placement of the business is at a monopoly state no competition. Challenges; I have students but fewer machines so sometimes students may pile up and I have nowhere to solicit for machines.

Loan Proposal

First thank you so much Zidisha Team for approving my loan application. My target is to make sure that my business grows. One i will use the money in purchasing teaching materials in my computer college. I want to purchase a projector, other computers and that's as time goes by as i will be continuing applying. The first loan will be used to purchase a complete set of a computer to add in my institution and if all goes well and as I repay my first loan, then I will be working closely on broadening my business.
