About Me

I was born in Uasin Gishu County of Rift Valley Province in the year 1989. Since my appearance in this world, the place I am has provided conducive and favorable climatic condition for living.

I attended a public primary school from 1996-2013, when I joined secondary school for a period of 4 years. After high school, things were not the way I was expecting. I registered at one of the colleges to study accounting, but due to inadequate fees I dropped out.

Since I was passionate about living a better life, I decided to start a farming business, since almost all the specific requirements were readily available, i.e. land and water.

My Business

Currently, I am practicing mixed farming, i.e. both agriculture and livestock.

For my poultry farming, I have 70 chicks, 50 layer and 30 broiler. I am collecting an average of 40-48 eggs per day that I supply to the nearby bakery. For my dairy farming, currently I have 2 Frisian cows: one is lactating and they both produce an average of 15-20 litres of milk a day that I supply to a local dairy cooperative society at a price per litre of 35, earning a sale of around ksh 500 a day.

I also have a vegetable garden where I plant different species. The garden is not doing well because of a lack of constant supply of water. This is the area of more concentration because I need to improve for better income. I chose mixed farming since I will be well dependable: if one is not doing well, the other will support me, hence consistent income.

My initial cost of capital I got from 1 acre of maize that I leased for 1 year from my father. I planted maize where I managed to get 26 of 90kgs of bags. I am reinvesting my profit, since I have already start contracting a zero-grazing unit. My vision is to be a large-scale dairy farmer.
