About Me
I’m a Kenyan citizen aged 37 years, a resident of Rangwa west sub-location, Kaksingri west locaton, Central division, Suba district, Homabay County in the republic of Kenya. Although I had a fairy average childhood and grew up in a family of five, I am the fourth born and the only boy child in amidst of four girls. My world was shaken when my father died when I was in form three, and I could not proceed on with my education since he was the sole provider at home. As my pillar of strength, his death affected me deeply. After three years of hard work and struggling I was employed as MPESA assistant agent where I served for three good years but i had a passion of starting my own business to inspire my fellow youths to start businesses of their own and to dream big and come up with big ideas. But along my way, everything was not easy but that was not enough to discourage, for my dreams were much bigger than my frustration. A proverb says that ‘’everything worth having, never comes easy ‘and that was true to me. Having the attitude of not letting a single opportunity slip away from my hands, one day as I was going through a business plan template I happened to come across the Zidisha web site address and immediately browsed it I got interested since I came to note that Zidisha loans do not carry interest , the total cost for each loan is just a service fee of 5% of the loan amount just to cover the cost of transferring and administering the loan, and I can adjust my loan installment to a desired amount I can afford, I can also communicate, post photos, share information and news directly to lenders about the progress of my business, unlike other financial institution which do charge higher interest of 25% and above.Apart from being business oriented I also love doing charity work, am a community volunteer worker in SOS children villages kenya-Suba branch, where I conduct structural home visit reaching ovc with appropriate information on child right and responsibilities, shelter and care assessment, food and nutrition status assessment, psychosocial and bereavement support, child status index assessment. I also thank Zidisha team for giving me an opportunity to serve as volunteer mentor.
My Business
I am operating MPESA shop (mobile banking agency) and computer services, where by through the financial support i have been receiving from my able lenders thruogh the zidisha team i managed to buy two computers and a printer i have introduce a medium size computer tutoring class as well offering services such as photo copying , printing, and internet services. i have also been able to expand my MPESA capital base from $150 to $400usd and this has greatly improved my family and my personal life and i sincerely thank my able lenders and zidisha team for their persistence support. zidisha is a great milestone in my life.
Loan Proposal
i am struggling hard to build up my working capital to meet the demands of my customers and my previous three loans have really proved a boon and brought my business back to normal and my dreams are soon to be realized. with this fourth loan i intend to buy additional computer, a printer, a full CCTV installation kit for my cyber cafe and computer tutoring classes at a total cost of $400 and the rest of the amount i will use to build my MPESA float balance(mobile banking agency). through this journey of self employment, zidisha has really has really come through for me especially by funding my my business to ease my working conditions and to attain profit margin from $60 to $150. as a volunteer mentor, i thank God for zidisha, and i will always be in debt to all my lenders and those who have always come through for me.
