I am a kenyan, adult. A B.Com graduate from egerton University. I have for three years been in the business of interior design. this is a field that, in my opinion, has a lot of potential and helps in bettering the quality of life for my clients. I help in creating spaces that are better, more conducive, and ultimately more practical than otherwise.
I had the opportunity to work in the formal sector after graduating, but it was hard to get the satisfaction of a job well done. thus, I started doing interior design as a freelance, going on the contacts I got during my interactions. Later, I discovered that I was good at it and thought to pursue it further, full time. that is where I am.
I deal in interior design consultancy, furniture design, garden design, home improvement, curtains and drapes, tiling, cabinets and storage... to list but a few. ultimately, I deal in bettering the spaces we live, work and play in.
The business is still in the initial growth phase as it is mostly a 'by referral' kind of business, but it is picking up quite well.
The profits I get are mostly used for personal development and upkeep, while some are reinvested in the business.
I seek to purchase power tools to make work easier in the workshop. this will reduce the man hours employed, increase the overall quality of the job and ultimately increase the selling prices and charges to my customers. I intend to purchase:
Circular saw @ $120
Drill/Screwdriver @ $ 100
Rotor Machine @ $ 120
Electric Sander @ $150.
With these machines, I project a 30% increase in revenues and a profit increase of between 15% and 18% in the six months after acquisition.
