About Me

I am a single male aged 24 coming from an humble background. I come from a family of seven. currently i am a student of chuka university taking bachelors in science of community development. i also work as a volunteer teacher in ndagani high school where i teach in the evenings. i started the grain selling business to raise money for my school fees and also to help the community from exploitation from unscrupulous traders who hike prices for these foods especially during the drought period to make super normal profits. the income i get from these business i use to pay my university fees and and pay school fees for my younger siblings with the rest. at my free time i visit the children's home in the county where i offer free counseling and motivation talks.

My Business

STOCK TO MY GRAINS BUSINESS
I own a business of grains selling. i buy the grains such as: maize, millet, sorghum, beans and cow peas and then transport them to drought striken parts of tharaka nithi county to sell them to the people. my customers like my business because i transport grains to their door steps and they buy it at cheap prices. my customers prefers me because i am convenient to them and cont-rally to by competitors by sell the foods at an affordable prices. the business is profitable because i buy the grains daily and transport them hence there is a high stock turnover. the only risk that the business faces is lack of goo roads where a motorbike can pass and this has made me to encounter many slow punctures on my way. my business make has a montly costs of 352.94 US dollars. the sales are 467 US dollars. i make a profit of 114.06 .

Loan Proposal

as the economy of kenya keeps on deteriorating, it becomes difficult for young people in the country to prosper in terms of entrepreneur sector. the banks in kenya need securities so as to offer loans like tittle deeds, logbooks and others. logically many youths in the country do not have such co laterals to be given the loans. even if they are given by the SACCOs they refund the money with high interest rates which keeps on exploiting them. but this is not the case with zidisha which empowers the people to be financially independent. i feel this is a good chance for me to assist the society through business from the zidisha loan.

given this loan, it will help me to purchase grains and repair of motorbike. i will use the money to buy the following.
1. purchase of 135 kilograms of beans - 25 us dollars
2. purchase of 200 kilograms of maize grains - 70 US dollars
3. purchase of 25 KGs of millet, 30kgs of sorghum, 25 kgs of cowberries- 25 us dollars
4 repair of motorbike - 30 us dollars

      Hi Boston

I read this in the forum (referring to Kenya): "We are experiencing some issues with our MPESA account, causing some delays in disbursing loans over the past few days. I am working with MPESA to get this figured out and get all pending loans disbursed as soon as possible. (...) An update on this - it seems this is now also affecting our ability to upload payments. I hope this issue will be resolved by Monday."

So you best wait a little longer. As long as you've made your payment and can prove it you will always be fine.

    Dear Zidisha fraternity,
Good evening all of you, I have spoken with Boston Ondimu this evening concerning his zidisha loan arrears, he has explained to into details that he has been doing with county government and recently they confiscated his payments due he has been conducting his business without business license and the business name, but he will be making payments tomorrow for the three weeks he has missed the repayment while he sort out the matter with the county government to receive his accumulated funds from the supplies to the Government. I have also encouraged him to make reschedules wherever he is unable to make repayments.
Finally, I was very much happy to speak to Boston for it was my first time to talk to him and as i explained to him that I am a mentor for Zidisha as wanted to disconnect me he was instantly developed interest to listen to me and we had a very good discussion and agreed to make payments tomorrow.
    Regards

hi lenders? due to heavy rains that have wept the main bridge that links my business to the market i kindly request that allow me to reschedule my loan payment to 150 weekly. i will resume when the county government will reconstruct the bridge. hope you will understand me. to explain further the bridge that links the place where my business is situated and my major market has been swept away by the heavy rains that we are experiencing in this month of august. this makes it impossible for my motorbike to move since i usu motorbikes to transport the grains to the market.
