About Me

I was born and raised in the coastal city of Mombasa. I am married with a son aged 7 months old we live in mtwapa on your way to Kilifi town my husband works with an Ngo in Mombasa for orphans while am a business woman.I finished high school and am currently a poultry farmer. I rare both layers for eggs and broilers for meat. I started my business in order to increase my family's income and also for self employment. After selling my produce i use the money to re stock and also to pay up all my utilities and help. The profit i earn I chip in in order to make sure that my family has the necessary basic needs.Poultry farming is a good business especially when one gets orders for the eggs and meat. The hard part of the business is capital because establishing it one will require building a house, buying of the equipments to use in feeding and drinking of water, connection of electricity and finding help for feeding the chicks. After one has established themselves its much easier because one will only be buying stock and feeds for the layers and broilers.

My Business

Am a poultry farmer i rare layers and broilers for eggs and meat and sell them to hotels, schools and individuals.Customers prefer my business because my prices are reasonable and my products are properly packed hygienically.Risks that affect my business is mostly death of the chicks if an outbreak occurs or when prices of their feeds fluctuate.I normally spend around seventy thousand to hundred thousand for re stocking and buying of feeds and paying utilities. Layers normally cost me fifty thousand for the six months feeding while broilers thirty thousand for the six weeks until they are ready for selling.Layers profit ranges from eight thousand to ten thousand while broilers fifteen thousand after selling the whole lot.Poultry farming is profitable because people prefer chicken meat because its tender and soft and the eggs are nutritious.

Loan Proposal

Thanks zidisha for the good work you are doing and most importantly to members that are starting their businesses they have a shoulder to lean on, for me this is my third loan and am so happy how far i have come, i have always wanted to buy coolers for storing my chickens while taking to clients so this will be very helpful for me. To all that shall lend to me thank you and to all that have lent before am very grateful for your support.

    Dear lenders,
I have resolved to leave this borrower for the next VM to follow up on. My efforts have been unfruitful for about a year now.
I have already alerted Zidisha on the same. Systematic challenges only have delayed my replacement to take over my responsiblity here.
    Thank you.

    VM Shehi.

I phoned Victoria today 6.13pm. She did not pick my call twice. I called her relative who confirmed receiving arrears alerts from Zidisha though she is unaware of challenges that Victoria could be facing.

I sent Victoria a text message to remind her that lenders' questions remain unaswered. I am now awaiting her reply or a comment post here.

    VM Shehi.

    Zidisha,
Is there a way to review comments? Victoria has an excellent record and does not deserve to have negative feedback, nor negative comments, on her account.

Thank you for clearing this up!

I also do not know why you asked Victoria this question. At the time of your post the first payment was not yet due on her current loan.
Her last loan was repaid in full.

      Mossuto,
Perhaps you have questioned the wrong person? You have not lent Victoria money for this loan, and she is not behind in her payments.
There is a delete option at the bottom of your post if you find that you have asked this in error.

      Hi Victoria,

Thanks your prompt updates. I believe you can achieve more by updating your lenders on benefits of your current loan.

You seem to be too obsessed with your future growth. Don't you think that could easily reduce attention to current challenges in your busiess?

      Your VM.

Thanks Shehi for your kind advice, but life without ambitions and goals doesn't seem as living as per my view, i think we wouldn't be having cars now, pple will still be riding horses, a persons dreams and goals are the one thing someone should be left with so that they can fail but still learn from that failure and continue with the journey ahead.

Hallo Lenders, i was looking at my days left only 7 days and am a bit freaked out that is not a lot of time, so i kindly ask you to send in your bids, in my home area we have an amazing landmark called The Elephant Tusks "The Gateway Landmark"
The Elephant "Tusks" are symbolic representations of entrance into the heart of the town. For me zidisha has entered into my heart and i feel very happy with the help we get, so lenders don't tire keep on helping us and the hope you bring out is immense. I am a poultry farmer but i see myself being more than that in due time.
