About Me

My name is Lilian Wabala, went to Busia Airstrip primary school, Kolanya Girls High School and lives in Busia Kenya. I come from a polygamous family . I am a Christian with Church of God Busia. I decided to practice timber selling and purchased some few timber worth twenty thousands(Kenya shillings) The management system I am using is full time personal supervision The reason I decided to have a timber yard is that there is high demand for timber in my county due to high population growth rates where many people are forced to construct houses and furniture, There is also demand for timber in businesses like coffin making and firewood for fuel. This has created a huge business opportunity for me, since I can purchase timber from suppliers and sell to my customers. Availability of trees in my country especially the forests and personal tree plantations spearheaded an opportunity for my business to take root . I love my Timber selling business because it is providing money for my family. I am able to support my family from the profit I get from the sales I make.

My Business

Am an entrepreneur dealing with timber, I buy and sell timber to different buyers both in Carpentry and Construction of houses. I have worked for an NGO as a field officer for 2years and managed to raise some little capital to start a timber business.

Loan Proposal

I therefore need more to expand and buy more stock, invest in and later buy a smoothening machine that will help in cutting and smoothening timber so as to attract more customers. I have requested for a loan to help me buy a handcart that I will be able to hire for customers to use for transporting the timber that they buy from my timberyard and charge a reasonable fee so that this helps me boost my business. With the hardcart, I foresee my yard expanding and I have a vision of stocking ropes, nails and wood preservatives that customers use during their construction and carpentry work, indeed the loan will help me purchase more once I succeed getting it.

The loan has enabled me purchase a small sized printer, printing papers, stapler and stapling pins to make printing work easier. The fast tender submitted earned me the money that I used to pay back the first loan, business is going well.

Am very grateful to my lenders for the previous loan helped me purchase ropes and bladders that customers bought and used for tying timber before transporting it, The loan also helped me increase the timber stock that I sold and still have some to sell, the profits enabled me to open other two businesses though at small scale, maize and egg selling, the little profits I get I use in buying the next stock for reselling and also this gives me a source of livelihood, for that matter am very greatful and would wish to request for another loan.

Am grateful that the loan that I got enabled me manage to hire a handcart that is effective in transporting timber to various customers destination at a small fee, the amount also enabled me to purchase 200 pieces of ropes that am still selling to my customers to help me accumulate the money and later fully pay for the hand cart so that I fully own it at the timber yard instead of hiring. So far due to the amounts that am accumulating I know within a span of time, I will be able to fully pay for the handcart until I officially own it since the received loan could not fully afford the handcart.
