I live in kiptangwanyi shopping center plot number 201. I have been in this area for long and thus I am quite conversant with the challenges, opportunities and hardships of this area. I am married with 2 children whom are all in school. One of my kids is in secondary school and the other one is in primary school. They both attend a local school at the shopping center. I am a business woman at the shopping center. I operate a grocery shop at the shopping center and it is a good one. I started this business in the year 2005. The capital was from some small family savings and this little amount was what I used to start this business. I now have my good and regular customers at the shopping center. It was really a hard task to start having one’s own customers but after a period of enduring, things started changing slowly and I acquired quite a number of customers whom I still do serve up to date. I have also been getting some financial assistance through our lending group which has been of great importance in boosting my business.
I am a well known business woman in Kiptangwanyi shopping center. I treat my customers with very high respect. This is because without them my business cannot do at all cost. This is what has been making me to maintain my customers for all that long. I get fresh supplies of vegetables from farms within and when there is a shortage, I usually get the supplies from Nakuru town. The supplies from the farms nearby are usually good and thus I they reduce the costs of transportation and in most instances the profit is usually good. When I have to collect the supplies from Nakuru town then this reduces the revenues. I have been able to educate my children through this business and also I do cater for the rest of the family needs from the revenues that I get from the business. The main challenges that this business encounter are lack of good roads especially during the rainy season, drought that usually affects the productivity in the farms. The months of January to March are usually not very good because of the shortage in supplies. This affects the business negatively.
Hi Lenders,
I would like to use this loan that I will be granted by Zidisha organization to do the following. First I would like to construct a new stall with more permanent materials. This structure will be very essential and good for my business. The one I am using requires frequent repairs, a method that is quite expensive. This reduces my revenues that I am intended to get from the business.
