About Me

I'm Joseph nganga,a born again christian.I was born in the year 1971 in Kericho District.I am a resident of Nakuru Town in place called Lanet. I am married with one wife and we live together with our children.I went to school in the early years of 1978,at Karirikania Primary School in Molo until i did my K.C.P.E.examination in the year 1986.Later i went to Kericho Day High School in the year 1987 to 1991 after i did mu O level certificate.
After my high school,my family and i shifted to Nakuru which was caused by the transfer of my dad in his workplace.I currently own my own plot in Umoja 2 and we live together with my family.

My Business

My Shoes business is strategically located at the heart of Nakuru Town. The shop is located along Kenyatta Avenue opposite Merica Hotel and G.P.O.offices.I started this shoes business in the year 2007.
My business is licensed under the Municipal council of Nakuru by-laws.In my shop you can get all types of latest shoes wear. That is children's foot wear, ladies wear and men leather shoes. The business do better here since i am the only business man selling shoes along the Avenue. The customers i do attend mostly are from the offices since in this area there are more offices.
In the year 2009,i was lucky to get a loan from KADET micro-finance,of K sh 60,000/=.I managed to repay the money for a period of 9 months early enough compared to the 12 months i was offered.
Now since we are almost approaching the high festive season and the latest new fashions of shoes are in the Kenyan market,i was requesting the zidisha Organization to lend me a loan so that i can have enough stock for my customers and add the new arrival shoes.I am pledging to be honest with your loans and to be repaying back zidisha loan on time and without fail.Thank-you in advance.

Loan Proposal

How are you my worthy zidisha friends. It is much privileged to have the zidisha microfinance being a partner in my business.Surely you have been more supportive and kind to my shoes business. The fist loan really helped my business to be more stocked than it used to be before your funds.I have created good customers relations since you financed my business with the loan.
Through this second loan,i have already ordered large quantities of new fashioned shoes especially as we are approaching this Christmas festive seasons in this month of December.I know and believe that through your continuous and generous support in my business we will make it.Thank you and welcome for the funding.

Hi all the Zidisha family members,It is another good day here in Kenya, especially Nakuru County. We are experiencing sunny weather at the moment. My business is doing average and we are expecting more customers during the day.
Now regarding my account,i have noticed that it is reading at 100% repaid.I had previously rescheduled my account as i had scarce funds to service the last month's installments.I can see that now reads at 100% paid which is not the case.Kindly help.Thank you.

How are you my worthy lending panel and the zidisha team management. Is is my hope that you are doing fine and good too.I have changed my monthly payment due to reason i couldn't avoid. There has been a major renovation of the stalls around the whole city, which was started by the County authorities and hence we have been closing our businesses mostly for the whole month.Iam therefore going to repay the loan comfortably from the end of this month of July whereby the whole renovation process will have been completed in the few days coming.Kindly bear with me promising to be punctual comes my next payment time\date arrive.thank you all.

How are you doing my worthy lenders and the Zidisha team as a whole? It is my hope that you are doing fine and still empowering my other business people around the globe and Kenya in particular.Just as i have been communicating to you my business partners,I am working hard to see the ends meeting at some point.Only that for the month of March, things had been tough in regarding my payments. It caught me unaware since i had to renew my annual license although in this year we had to repay almost double the price we used to pay the previous years.Due to this,i have been forced to reschedule my payments timetable and start in this month of April.I kindly apologize for this unusual event.I will be paying this month instead.Thank you all.

Hi Joseph -- Congratulations for repaying your loan.

Since you rescheduled your 24-month loan for 4 months, the loan may not have been needed at all.
It is good that you can operate your business without outside loan capital. That will save you the interest expense, and it should be the ultimate goal of lending through this platform. It also frees up funds for borrowers with real need.
Wishing you the best of luck and prosperity in the future.

How are doing the zidisha team?I hope you are good and fine too.Me am good and my business is running as usual.Today being on Sunday i went to church in the morning service, thereafter i opened my store due to the big demand of the new arrivals shoes by my customers which had entered into the market with big boom. Also as we are heading to the big days in this month of December,we have Jamhuri day celebrations which is being observed on 12/12/2013,of every year and the Christmas seasons just about to be celebrated around the world by the Christians faiths. So we are hoping the business to be more positive than ever in the whole year's calender.
I have today,08/12/2013 repaid my monthly installments of Kes.7010.Thank you all.

      Hi Joseph,
I'm glad to hear that your business is booming.
I had never heard of "Jamhuri Day" before, so I looked it up and found this:

"Jamhuri Day, also called Independence Day, one of the most important national holidays in Kenya, observed on December 12. The holiday formally marks the date of the country’s admittance in 1964 into the Commonwealth as a republic and takes its name from the Swahili word jamhuri (“republic”); December 12 is also the date when Kenya obtained its independence from Great Britain in 1963.

Under British rule since the late 19th century, Kenya officially became a British colony in 1920. The movement against colonial rule grew, culminating in the Mau Mau uprisings in the 1950s, during which the country was plunged into a state of emergency through most of the decade. Africans gained some social and economic concessions as a result of the uprisings, and African political participation increased in the early 1960s. Kenya gained independence on Dec. 12, 1963, and became a republic a year later, with Jomo Kenyatta as its president.
Because Jamhuri Day has such historical significance, virtually every Kenyan celebrates the holiday to some extent. Celebrations include feasts, political speeches, parades, and dancing."

So in spirit it is similar to the "Fourth of July" holiday in the US, which marks a declaration of independence from the British. For Kenyans it make December a very busy month, indeed!
      Best to you,
      Marvin

    Hello Joseph,
I am very glad to hear that you have upgraded your store using the Zidisha loan, and that it has greatly improved your shoe business. Congratulations that you have decided to repay your loan early.

This is a little surprising because your first loan payment has NOT EVEN COME DUE YET! Great work!

It may be the best success for Zidisha when a client no longer needs the Zidisha money to be successful.
Best of luck to you, sir.
    Marvin
