About Me

My name is samwel njoroge. Ask for Njoroge wa Mureithi. I am a married man and a father of 5 children. They are currently in school the eldest being in university.

My Business

I am a farmer and own a 6 acre piece of land in Karuri which is inherited land. I plant wheat and after harvesting replace it with peas, tomatoes and carrots as I prepare for the next planting season. I buy 150 kgs of wheat seeds for planting. The total cost for wheat seeds is 12,000 shillings. I buy 150 kgs of fertilizers at 12,000 thus a total cost of 35,000 including labour and herbicides required. I harvest around 40 bags I sell each bag at 2700 and get a total of 108000 in a year. My annual profit is 73000 shillings from the other crops I get at least 30,000 shillings a year

Loan Proposal

I am a farmer and own a 6 acre piece of land in Karuri which is inherited land. I plant wheat and after harvesting replace it with peas, tomatoes and carrots as I prepare for the next planting season. I will use the cash to buy seeds and fertilizers for the next season. This will keep me up to date with the competition and enable me have a nice harvest for the next year. the money will also facilitate my changing from inorganic farming to help improve soil fertility and also participate in the conservation of environment. i plan to plant a few trees in my farm and the money will be of great help.

I also wish you the best in your farming venture and the conversion to more organic agriculture. What kind of trees are you interested in planting?

    Dear Mr Njoroge,
I am really happy to hear that you are working on your soil fertility and try to switch from inorganic to organic farming.
As you might have heard there have been many farmers that bought expensive patented seeds they are not allowed to use again. The farmers became dependent on the supply by the big seed companies and had to pay them again and again until they went bankrupt. I highly recommend you read this article
    translate.google.de/transla...
I hope you manage the change to organic farming and will then be able to save and reuse your own seeds.
    Best regards
    Alex S
