About Me

My name is Teresia Apondi Opiyo of ID Number, 31263321 and nationality Kenyan. I was born in Siaya District 20 years ago to a family of five. I am a Christian who fellowships at P.C.E.A church in Nakuru town. The church is located approximately 2 kilometers from my area of residence. I am single and live in a rental house for which I pay Ksh 3,000 every month. I am a business person dealing in purchase and sales of second hand clothes both for ladies and men. I am pleasant personality with good social skills and this has greatly helped me to market my products and increase my sales volumes as well as my profit margins.

My Business

I have a business which majorly deals with the purchasing and sales of second hand clothes for men and women, a business which I have operated for a period of 15 months now. I started this business immediately after my form four examinations as a way of meeting my financial obligations. In time, the business grew and the demand for my products greatly increased. This motivated me and gave me the desire to exploit the business more. Currently I have a shop where I display my products although I am still involved in the door to door sales which formed the foundation of my business. I seek for funds from zidisha to improve my business by buying more products for sale and reaching out to more markets and even to other counties in order to realize my dreams and achieve my business objectives.

    Hello Teresia,
Can you explain how an 11-week loan will help your used clothing business?

How do you turn over sales of good so fast?

Or does the money actually go to JARED OPIYO's "mPesa" float? (He submitted a loan request for the same 11-week term on the same day.)

Thank you in advance for answering these questions.

Hi, the money I seek from zidisha team is solely meant to be for my business and my business alone. I realize that when I struggle to repay back loan in good time and fast enough, it gives me ample time to plan for expansion and to improve my business. What makes me think that I will use this money well is that I have previously received contracts and tenders from some 4 schools in Nakuru town, a church and a self help group to supply T-shirts with labels of the schools and the organizations. This gives me good return and I don't find any reason why raising a Ksh 45,000 loan advanced to be should take a period well over 11 weeks. I feel I should be able to clear out the loan as fast as possible and reach on to my other business objectives and aspirations. Business people consult widely whenever necessary and we also tend to share information with our business colleagues within and outside our areas of specialization. We also borrow ideas from one another and tend to emulate those that we think seem to work well for our business friends. Competition is the basis of success! Thank you.

I express my sincere gratitude to Zidisha Team for this privileged opportunity to be a member and a beneficiary to this wonderful scheme. I am grateful to all my lenders for gaining trust in me and for granting me this opportunity to advance my business investments. I promise to use the funds as planned and refund back the money so as to be able to acquire more funds from Zidisha Team.
