My Business

My business is selling of green grocer items like tomatoes,cabbage,kales,onions,carrots,mangoes.oranges,omenas,bringles.the demand is here because of the tourists pollution and the locals hence high demand.customers coming to my place because am clean and i talk to them nicely.this is profitable because a lot of people like green vegetables, risks include rotting away of these goods after they overstay. My monthly cash is about kshs 17,000 minus expenses of about kshs 10,000.the remaining amount is used to pay the loan. With the previous loan i was able to buy a second hand motorcycle and this really has helped me so much i would like to buy a brand new motorcycle and this will be a good boost to my business. I really need to expand my training school. So far so many trainees but very few seats , no space and computers are few. Cant wait when I will be able to get bigger loan to facilitate real expansion. Currently we are forced to stop others from joining until the current ones have finished.Otherwise I have high hopes with zidisha. I will be able to expand and maybe one day be the land mark that we aspire to be in the locality. By the way google has approved us on their map look here maps.google.com/maps?cid=70...

    Hello Lenders,

My name is Dickson Mutashe, I am a volunteer mentor of Cosmus. I was assigned him recently. I called him and we had long conversation. Though we did not reach conclusion, he mentioned something to the effect of finishing to repay the loan within Feb. He claims he had lost truck of how much he owed Zidisha and when he was sent a text message he realized its saying Ksh10890 while he knows about four thousand will again talk to him and keep you posted and if possible help him reschedule his loan.

    Hello Lenders,

My name is Andrew Weber and I recently served as a Zidisha Client Relationship Manger in Kenya. There I paid a visit to Cosmus in his tuk-tuk taxi in the city of Mtwapa on the coast. Like most Kenyans, Cosmus has dabbled in a variety of business in an effort to make ends meet. He has worked in hardware stores, operated a motor bike taxi, and run a green grocer. Currently he has settled on operating a tuk-tuk taxi (Tuk-tuk’s look like golf carts and fit about 3 passengers). His customers include locals carrying bags of food to their homes and tourists traveling along the coastal highway from one beach to another.

Currently Cosmus rents his tuk-tuk and pays the owner about $10/day. In order to pocket more of the customer fare, he intends to buy his own motor bike taxi with this loan. Then with his next Zidisha loan he wants to buy his own tuk-tuk, which brings in an even greater profit than the ubiquitous motor bikes around town. Cosmus has a great understanding of the best ways to maximize your profit in this town, and he is confident he will continue to increase his income and support his three children with the help of financing provided by Zidisha.
