      Hello Margret,

I read somewhere on the new Zidisha Forum that they were having some problem that was causing delays in making disbursements in Kenya.

I'm not sure what the problem was,, but maybe it is why you have not received your funds.

I will email your post to [email protected]. I'm not sure how long a response might take because it is a holiday weekend Saturday, Sunday and Monday in the U.S.

      I hope this helps.

          HI Margret,

You're welcome. I am happy to help. I hope they will see my email about your post and your disbursement inquiry soon.

Also, in another matter, I know Julia upgraded the Zidisha website this weekend to make it run faster and work better. However it was unavailable for many hours and they are still trying to make everything work correctly.

      Dear Margret,

this is Roberta, Kenya Country Liaison Intern at Zidisha.org.

First of all, the reason why you had some problems in withdrawing your Zidisha loan, is that we are experiencing a technical problems with our M-PESA account. Due to this problems, the disbursement of your loan was initiated, but not confirmed, so the money were not sent to you. We will be able to resume with the disbursement process from Wednesday this week, so your loan will be disbursed on that date. Then, I also sent a message regarding your M-PESA number because I wanted to confirm it in order to proceed with the disbursement later on, as I tried to explain in my SMS.

I'm very sorry that this issue has caused some misunderstandings. Please, if you have any more questions, don't hesitate to ask.

      Best regards,

      Roberta,
      Zidisha Team

Hello, fellow lenders. I feel the 73% on-time loan repayment rate for Margret might be misleading in her case. Margret made loans repayments on a regular basis, and paid her 12 month loan in full in 12 months. (See for yourself by viewing her previous loan and looking at the repayment schedule section.)

Margret, I commend you for taking your loan commitment seriously and repaying even while caring for your husband, when he was sick. I hope he is feeling better. I wish you luck as you continue to raise funds for your second loan.

    Dear lenders,

This is Analin Saturria McGregor from Zidisha's Communications team.
Margret sent us a message today to let us know the reason behind her latest loan repayment being late. Margret's husband was in the hospital and was released just yesterday, so she has been absent from her business activities lately. We are very comforted to hear not only that Margret's husband is back home, but that Margret and her family were able to access the healthcare he needed and take care of him. This is what we hope to see as a result of supporting our members' businesses - that when the time calls for it, they are able to take care of themselves and their families.
Margret is looking forward to getting back to work and finish repaying her loan. Her good standing with Zidisha and her lenders is very important to her. Quoting from her message: "I am committed in completing my loan as early as I can and I don't want to destroy current credit limit". Here at Zidisha we are honored and grateful to have her trust and look forward to continue working with her.

    Hello Margret,

I like your May 11 comment, "... if you lend a women you lend a family as whole because us women we are serious in whatever we do."
It made me smile because I believe it is true.
I wish you success in raising the funds for your loan this time.
