About Me

I am a 22 year old male Kenyan Citizen. I live in Thika, Ofafa Estate just opposite Presbyterian Church of East Africa Thika plot number 10, house number 7.
I am a hawker whereby I sell utensils and other house hold goods like basins, spoons, pans.
I am a form four leaver and I cleared high school in 2010. I come from a humble background.
I choose to do business after my mother was not in a position to raise funds to cater for my college fees. I had to make a living for myself and try to save to educate myself either in 2014 or later in the same year.
I normally get my merchandise from Gikomba market and Nairobi's river road.

My Business

My business entirely relies on my effort. I walk from door to door within homes and towns. I travel a lot either by foot or public vehicles known here as "matatus".
I sell house hold goods which include plastic basins, cooking pans, spoons, forks, knives, plates among others. Basically anything needed in a house, I am the right person to inquire from.
There is demand for my goods as I normally have all the customers require. Should I meet a customer that requires something that I don't have, he or she only needs to wait a few minutes so that I rush for it. Mostly I operate within Thika town and hopefully to cover a larger part of the country not as a hawker but with my stores.
The business is profitable as I get my goods from cheap sources and they are quality hence a stable market.
When I am not in my business, I work night shifts at a processing plant in Thika hence I am able to balance my income.

Loan Proposal

I will use the loan granted by Zidisha to increase my stock under the following criteria. I will purchase plastic basins, cups, cooking pans to cost me Ksh. 3000. The remaining Ksh. 4,500 I will use it to pay for computer packages. I want to know all basics about computers before educating myself later on with a diploma in electrical engineering at Thika Technical Institute. Through my business I will manage even to educate myself and achieve my dream of becoming an electrical engineer.
Thanks. Please assist me

    Dear Lenders,
I was with Isaac during the weekend; I had a meeting with some of the Zidisha members in Thika and he was one of them. He promised to make effort to resume paying. I advised him on the importance of repaying; which he benefited from after someone else repaid the loan he was granted.

    Regards,
    Paul

    Hi Pavane,
I had a personal problem including being hospialized and that made me be out of work for a while but I have devised ways to commence repaying.
I am sorry for the cause of trouble.

    Dear Lenders,
I was sick and just returned back to business. I have opted to reschedule my loan so as to get my repayment schedule in line. I will work extra harder and assure you to honor my initial word.
I appreciate your patience, I don't at all take it for granted.
I will immediately commence with the repayment as soon as I get the returns from my business which I am now picking it up from where I left before being hospitalized.
    Thank you.

    Hello Isaac,
I hope all is well with you. Please make an update, it is better for your lenders to know what to expect than to just wait and worry.
    Regards, Pavane

    Dear Lenders,
    Dear Lenders,
Mr. Isaac has just made another payment. Lets wait for Zidisha to update the profile.
I have the transaction message and I can confirm indeed he has repaid, as I was with him as he sent the repayment.
    Thanks.

      Mr. Kamande,

Thank you for checking up on this. I sure hope it is a substantial payment, though. Mr. Mukami is nearly $45 (3 months) in arrears and would hope it is more than a token payment.

Since you were on site when he repaid, You are probably aware that the repayment didnt even cover one month.

      Hello Paul,
I would like to know how Isaac is doing and why he isn't paying back as he promised. The only time he made a repayment it was a very small amount.
      Regards, Pavane

    Dear Lenders,
I will visit Mr. Isaac this weekend. I hope that the repayment trend I have experienced so far will be translated to his loan too.
I will seek to get a positive answer from him and the reason for delay in payment as well as seeking to know why he hasn't been responding to your questions on his profile.
    I'll keep you posted.

    Mr. Mukami,

How are you doing? How's business?

I see that you are slightly behind in your repayments. May I suggest that you reschedule your loan so as not to further damage your on-time repayments score?

    Dear Lenders,
I have fully repaid my loan. I did so days ago and am now waiting for Zidisha to update the website.
Thank you very much. I have grown and improved significantly through the loan you gave me. I used it well and now I have a different tale to tell.

    Thank you.

    Dear Lenders,
Today finally I have achieved a certificate in computer packages which include everything about Microsoft Office. I am very happy that through Zidisha I have been able to make a positive change and impact in my life.
Alsi in business, I am doing very good and actuslly set to repay fully my loan very soon before the actual repayment day. I am even about to secure a permanent shop which I am now seeking for a vacant one.
Thanks for being part of the major impact and breakthrough in my life.

    Dear Lenders,
I am happy to let you know that my business has really picked up very well. I have started selling umbrellas and in due time I am to secure a shop where I will be based permanently.
Also, I want to diversify on poultry since I already have a poultry house. I have been talking to various field officers and I know that this will be a milestone achievement.
I will commence repaying my loan end this week and I look forward to making the relationship with you last.
    God Bless you all.

    Isaac.

    Dear Lenders,
I have just talked to Mr. Isaac Muhia and am happy to report to you that he is set to start repaying his loan on or before 19th November. His business is back on track and actually he has incorporated selling umbrellas due to the start if the rainy season here in Kenya.
Thanks for the assistance you offered to him.

Dear Lenders, my business was faced with a setback that has led me to reschedule my loan. My goods got confiscated by the Thika Town Council officers claiming that we should pay ticket fees yet the County Governor had exempted us hawkers from the same. A case is on going at the court and by mid November hopefully we should get our confiscated goods back and resume normal operations as we were assured that we would win the case. Please bear with me.
