I am from western Kenya kakamega county. i grew up in the village, back then education was not a priority for girls in my family, our major roles was going to the forest to fetch fire wood, going to the river to fetch water, cleaning utensils and cooking not to forget washing clothes for the whole family,Going to school was a pull and push struggle, i went to school through hiding because it was not important to my parents, i couldn't attend school like my brothers, the family preferred for girls to stay at home, but after showing my commitment to really want school my parents had to sacrifice and allow me and my sisters to attend school, i am married and a mother of one son,My business came from the daily struggles for me to want to be a better mother and provide for my son a better life, My son want to be a doctor to save lives of children, I volunteer with my church as a Sunday school teacher.
My business is a retail shop that provides fresh, nutritious vegetable and fruits, i sell cabbages, kunde, managu, carrots, onions, tomatoes, peas, french beans, sukuma wiki, mangoes, paw paws, i sell them in small quantities people living in the slum they can only afford, products packed in small quantities, the profits enables me to buy books, pens for my son, pay his school fee, pay for his lunch fees, pay my house rent and the rent of the kiosk where i sell my products.
The will we spent to purchase cabbages worth 2000 kshs kunde worth 500 kshs managu worth 500kshs , carrots worth 1000kshs, onions 500kshs , tomatoes 1000 kshs, peas 500kshs, this are my biggest movers in the market, given that i add the stock i will make an average of 500 bob kshs per day, and on Friday through Sunday i will make an average of 1000 kshs per day, the profits will go to pay fees for my son stabilizing my business, paying rent for my kiosk.
