I'm Moses Ichingwa Born in Kakamega County,35 years ago . I joined a local primary school there and studied from nursery.I later joined primary education for eight years and passed well and was enrolled for secondary school where i also passed with flying colours. I had a vision to become a business manager in my own business and employ people in my own company. After my Secondary course, I could not get a job. This really contributed to the end of my education and then I had to start looking for an alternative to this. I was now on my own since my parents could not get enough considering there are many siblings in our family. I eventually overcame all these Misfortunes and began to have at least a smile a few weeks after establishing my small business shop along the road. I targeted people from my community since they have to walk long distances to the market to get foodstuffs for their family. I still own ashop a shop along the road which makes me earn a living am undergoing a computer course since i started receing funding from zidisha
I own a food kiosk(a small shop/place) where I sell different kinds of local foods and stuffs for people especially the locals in my village . Since I started this business, I have developed instantly. I started with selling paraffin, I eventually introduced other heavier stuffs like wheat floor, cooking oil, peas, maize and beans etc. I earn at least 10 dollars daily after paying my attendant and materials. I save 5 dollars, for my future, while the rest I invest in the business. l want to establish my own provision (shopkeeping) firm..I purchase various items:detergents, food stuffs, plastics, milk, clothes, fuel etc.l Hope to expand my business increase profit and income where i will continue the trend of just meeting my potential, only taking on new challenges when someone brought it to my attention that I’d be perfect for the opportunity.
Since i started getting funding from zidisha life has never remained the same.i sell foodstuffs to the locals including bread, wheat flour, salt, cooking oil, soda, juice, milk, detergent and kerosene. These are the main goods that I sell to the local community around. These goods become very useful the community because most of my customers hail from the village and the shop is a village shop.It has reduced the long distances thy travel to markets and town.I chose this business because its easy to operate and has readily available customers who permanently stay in the village.I make daily sales of 40 to 50 dollars out of which I earn 15dollars and save 5 dollars. My family leads a better life for am able to take my children to god schools,we cant go without having atleast three meals a day. From the savings I have been able to purchase some materials which I indent to put up a good house for our shelter.am also taking part time studies to improve my knowledge. If it were not for this business then I would be a begger
My sales have been improving day in day out from 40 to between 60 to 100 dollars daily.i have continued to sell sugar, salt, bread, juice, wheat and maize flour, blue band, rice, green grams etc to the locals.making a daily profit of 5 to 15 dollars daily where am able to 3 dollar at least daily.the rest i use to feed my family, pay rent, pay fees for my children, provide basic needs for my parents and also assist the needy in my local church and home improvement.i have a drastic change in my life.my life is comfortable for i dont strain in doing my daily activities.i capitalise on the ready market from the local community.this is because the nearest market is some kilometres away therefore coexisting
.We live a happy life because of the business
From this business, I pay my house rent, I buy my clothes, and I support my younger siblings who are still in school
i will buy more stock to enable me maximize profit i will buy
1.wheat flour10 bundles at150dollas
2.blue band at15dollas
3.sugar 2 bags at 160 dollars
4.green grams 2 bales at 760 dollars
5.maize flour 10 bales at 120 dollas.
this will enable my stock increase and my neighbour will benefit by not going for long distances to look for the food stuffs especially this time when the country is undergoing food shortage by so doing my life will change economically. the profits will increase by 30 percent
