My name is Immeculate Odongo. I was born in a family of 8, six girls and 2 boys. I went to Nambale Primary School and later joined lwanya Girls Secondary for my secondary school certificate.
Due to financial difficulties, I was not able to go to college. This prompted me to start a farming business. At first it was difficult because I didn't have any training in the field. I went to Bukura Agricultural College to study agriculture. I perfected my knowledge and it paid off: I am now a proud owner of 0.5 acre sukuma wiki (kale) farm.
I currently don't have any kids of my own, but I stay with an adopted kid called Malia. She is a cute, nice girl; she wants to be a farmer just like me in the future.
During my free time, I always prune my vegetables. I also like singing and dancing to traditional tunes.
Thank you for visiting my profile.
My farm provides my clients with high quality and nutritious vegetables. I also use organic fertilizer so as to produce vegetables with minimal chemical content.
I live in a densely populated region where most people don't practice farming. I am the only one who grows vegetables and demand is very, very high. I always turn down many offers since I cannot supply everyone.
I chose this business because it did not need too much money to start. I started it with little capital and so far I am doing well.
I will use my proceeds to pay for my part-time college fees, pay school fees for Malia, and take care of my elderly parents and grandparents.
Dear lenders, I am so happy for the support you accorded. My business is growing and I am certain it will be one of the biggest organic farms in my region. As per my business plan, I expected to introduce poultry farming late this year, but, due to increased revenues and your support, I believe I will do it early.
I have bought construction materials worth $200 so far and would wish to request a $425 loan to enable me complete the purchase of materials, pay for labor, and buy the first 100 chicks.
I hope my requests find you in good health. Thank you so much and welcome to my farm when you visit Kenya.
