About Me

Vivian, 48 years, single mother of a young adult (19 years old)
Self employed, primary income, insurance agency. Also runs a small kiosk of cereals and sweets. I rear chicken on small scale. Currently domicile in a region in Nyanza called Siaya.. I moved from Kenya's Coast late 2019.

My Business

retail shop. selling general groceries, soap, salt, cooking oil etc. I also sell insurance (General). out of this I earn on commission basis. Am not salaried thus my income is not regular. I also rear kienyeji chicken.

Loan Proposal

I am presently doing dry cereals and sweets. I intend to diversify and add fried potatoes and fruits and their respective juices... Also I will purchase bottles to pack cheaply available drinking water.

Income Source

My observation of my present location for business is that the local community are not big spenders so I intend to combat the present challenges by providing low priced items which they can pick and go with without giving much consideration to the dent the purchase will leave in their pockets.. it's always easier to move a cheaper product than an exclusive expensive one...

Thank you lenders. I received Ksh 5600/- after expediting fee deduction.

Like I mentioned earlier I intend to diversify on the snacks am selling and have bought unused bottles to package water in at a cost of 1250/-. The rest of the fund has gone to buying raw material for the snacks.

I am particularly grateful to Paul who has accepted to take a chance on my project and find me again despite my delay in settling the last loan.

    Thank you...

Thank you Zidisha team and lenders. I particularly thank Paul for taking a chance on me again... My last loan repayment was quite irregular due to the economic climate after Covid but this will be better I guarantee. Thanks again. I hope to grow with Zidisha to greater heights...

Quite honestly, my business really suffered after Covid 19 hit... It was a challenge to offset because I had just relocated and was just getting to understand the dynamics of trade in a new location... It wasn't easy but having the loan helped a lot.

I met a personal challenge relation wise which affected my business and left me with more overhead expenses than I initially had. This has overlapped with the current lock down and everything is just stuck. I know I owe and I will fully meet my obligation, I just require an adjustment period. I will pay with any other penalties which might arise.

Thank you lenders. The loan will defray overhead costs which I must meet despite my commission delay. I will settle on time with a view to grow my limit to amounts which can positively impact my business. Thanks again.

I have managed to get the retail outlet to take off. I have also fenced out a portion of the land and put vegetables in it which reduces my overheads in terms of feeding the chicken. I got a new jiko also.

Thank you John and Margaret for funding my loan towards completion of my kiosk and the purchase of a cooking stove. The loan will make my kiosk easily accessible and will improve my trade. Am sure my customers will also appreciate the service brought closer to them
The jiko will also ease my cooking work within a shorter period as it is a twin burner. Thanks and I will definitely send pictures once done. A good day to you both and the whole team at Zidisha.

    Dear lenders,
This is a confirmation for having received funds towards building the kiosk. I confirm that it's ready now. Just a touch up inside, setting up the wooden fixtures and verandah outside, getting stock in it and I will be good to go.

Thanks all and thanks Zidiaha team for making it possible.
