About Me

I am Willis Atambilah Nsoh, 30 years, and fair in complexion. I am third in a family of six . My basic education and senior high school were in Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region. I then proceeded to the university where i read Economics and Entrepreneurship at the University for Development Studies in Tamale in the Northern Region of Ghana.

After three years of search for a white color job yielding no results i begun to bring to bear what l learnt four years at the university with my in built talent of designing african wear using afrcan traditional prints.

Ghana is a country with a populace of mixed culture .Ghanaians are peaceful with the characteristic feature of coping elements of culture across the various divides who coexist peacefully.it has a convergent of all the tribes making it a beautiful atmosphere to enjoy the differences in the variouse ethnic groupings.

I am a self-employed. I Design and produce African wears . I entered this business due my passion for african wear with african prints and my desire of becoming a great entrepreneur.

My hobbies are reading, drawing and playing football ,and watching movies.

My Business

I produce African wears and Designs as a tailor.I select and buy mostly african prints or cloths which i design and turn into both traditional and western clothing or blend the african traditonal and western style. Some are made ready for sale and others on customers and retailers specification. I entered this business after three years of apprenticeship at Boligs' fashion and Designs. I have been producing various designs and wears from different backgrounds of culture over the few years of my practice as a designer of African wear .
I have the vision of employing people and making them specialize in an aspect of the production process and expanding my business to even inlcude a school where i will impact the knowledge i have, theoritically and practically to others to also walk their dreams or employ them afterwards due the high demand for my products.
I started my African wears and Designs shop in the year 2013.
Just to mention a few, African wear has become a popular daily wear among Ghanaians due to the following:
The government of Ghana has institutionalised african wear as friday wear in all government works and other works as well and which has now become more or less everyday wear in Ghana and most parts of africa.
Moreover, Ghana being the land of mixed culture with the featuer of copying the way of dressing of the blend of cultures which is especially more emphasised in the area of clothing (african wears) have made the demand for african wears so high.
Ghanaians are people who hold their culture in high esteem and believe that our traditional clothes represent our culture and identity and therefore to let go of them will be like discarding our own culture, and more importantly their identity is represented by their way of dressing, hence the demand for african wear on a high side.
African wear is the only product that ejoys free advertisements indirectly. Producers do not need to spend money to advertise on African wear because:
(a)about 99% of people who are seen at occasions such as weddings, festivals and churhes, are in African wear.
(b)hitting our national television sreens everyday is the display of our traditional cloths(African wear) by a high profile personalities both in government and private organisations and the Tv presenters which is watched by all Ghanaians and their taste and preference for african wear
Again, african wear has become more fashionable by those who want to go with the flow of fashion. Youngsters do add their own tastes and ideas to them and they are quite classy, stylish and attractive. This , they believe make them feel confident as they know that they are portraying a modern image of themselves and help them from becoming a prey of self-consciousness. They are convenient, comfortable and give them the option of flexibility in the sense that they change their way of dressing style day in and day out.
By virtue of the geographical position of Berekum in Ghana it is well noted for its trading activities, where people from all walks life near and far in Ghana and even beyond do come to patronize goods and sevices and more especially african wear.
Again ,people overseas (tourists) who visit Ghana also demand most of these wears which i believe will open a window of opportunity in the near future as these are going global.

With such an opportunity existing it was therefore necessary to capitalised on this by designing various indigenous wears.

My products are preferred mostly as result of the blend of modernity with the traditonal style.

I opted for the production of African wear and design due to the passion for i have it and and as a away of becoming the entrepreneur i keep dreaming of.

My typical cost are $50 into light bills as my work is basically on light, $60 for my rented shops and $50 or above for Unforeseen contingencies a month. My rvenenue is &600 and so my net is $440 a month. This is expected to increase as when the demand for my service becomes high as i am anticipating.

Despite the flourishing nature of my business i cannot run away from challenges as well.
My renteded workshop cannot accommodate myself and my other four apprentices due its smallness .
I am also competing poeple in the same industry with modern sophiscated sewing machines which i do not have, having been in the industry for not that long as i am financially constrained.
I also have the intention of acquiring an additional shop and buying in bulk fabric and thread to store for future usage as it price keeps increasing and to also show case(display) my products to the public.
I humbly plea to Zidisha to come to my aid to help build my own workshop, buy electric sewing machines ,fabrics and acquire a store to display my products.

REPAYMENTS
I will be able repay my loan facility with the daily proceeds from my sales .

Loan Proposal

I will use the requested amount to buy fabrics and thread to boast production of my products. The profit will be reinvested in other to acquire more fabrics to meet the demands of my retailers. This will increase my profit to about 200 dollars every month.

    Dear lenders,
I am very grateful for the honour done me by granting my second loan of $321. Thanks for the good works and may you never lack in all your dealings. I have bought an industrial sewing machine costing $270 and the remaining $51 added to my saved money to buy more fabrics for my clothing production. Thanks once again lenders for without you I wouldn't be able to buy the sewing I have always dreamt of.
Indeed Zidisha is a place to be.
