About Me

My name is Hellen Wanjiru Maina, and I was born in Murang'a, Gaturi location, Nyakihai Sublocation, Kirima Village. Currently, I live in Nairobi, Zimmerman. My father is a driver and my mother is a small scale farmer. Through their efforts, they managed to educate the four of us, my two brothers and sister through college education. After clearing college I worked in various sectors where I also joined some Merry-go-round groups which helped me raise some capital and start the shop where I am currently working.

My Business

My business specialty is mainly services. Some of the major things include, offering government services through online platforms such as ecitizen.go.ke. Here I assist customers t renew their driving licenses, apply for Kenyan Passport, Business registration and such other services included in the platform. Other online services include ghris.go.ke, teacher service commission website among others. Apart from the online services I also offer other services such as photo editing, passport photo and photo printing, as well as documents printing services.
Virtually, I chose this type of business due to my qualifications from college (Diploma in Information Communications Technology), which made it easy for me to navigate through the online services. Normally, on a good day I make about ($10), which is used across a wide sort of activities among them paying rent and taking care of my family. Every three months together with my friends we visit a children home around home as a way of giving back to the community.

Loan Proposal

Currently, I have specialized on children clothes. But I was hoping to add some ladies wear to boost sales. Among the items I want to add include some ladies chiffon tops, skinny jeans, fancy dresses, and ladies official skirts. These clothes will be picked from Gikomba, the largest second-hand clothing market for reselling. The cost for these clothes will be around $200. I will then use the balance to add on children clothes. More specifically, with the rainy season being near, I was hoping to get a bale of children trench coats at around $150. The balance will then be used to support my printing shop to add inventory.
