About Me

My name is Esther. I was born in Nakuru county in the Rift Valley region of Kenya. I was born in a farming community where the main activity was and still is food production. I grew up in this area and went to school up to secondary school and thereafter joined a secretarial college where I did a course in secretarial duties.

Due to lack of formal jobs, I moved to Mombasa to live with my relatives. These relatives were running a business of selling movies and music and I would go to to the shop to give a helping hand.

This is where I learned crucial lessons of how the business is done. I requested my parents back home to support me to start a similar project and they obliged. With their support, I opened a stall where I sell movies and different types of music.

My Business

I deal with buying and selling of movies and music. I sell all types of movies and educational videos. I source my stock from Nairobi where there are big stores for movies.

The most popular ones are action movies and popular series. Educational videos are also on demand and my main clients for these are students and teachers. I also sell all genres of music. The business is quite challenging because one to keep tabs with what is trending and understand the tastes of different people.

All in all, I find the business very fulfilling because it gives me some income and also allows me to know what people prefer to watch

Loan Proposal

My music selling business is doing well. However, I now want to venture into a new area but under the same roof. I want to start selling electrical installation items such as electric bulbs and cables. I have done my research and I have seen that these items are in high demand. My existing clients will provide a ready market for the items and I hope to attract many more.
