About Me

My name is Solomon Mureithi. I was born in Nyeri county which on the slopes of Mount Kenya. I was born and raised up in a farming community and I used to help my parents with their daily chores when not in school. The farmers in this area grow food crops as well coffee for cash.

I attended primary school and later joined secondary school where I took four years. I later joined a government program for youths called National Youth Service (NYS) at their training base in Gilgil. Young people are trained different types of technical skills with the purpose of serving the country in different areas. After a four months course, I was posted in northern Kenya where I served as a sentry in a government farm.

I was then posted to NYS Mombasa where I did a course in Electrical Installation which took me three year. After graduating, I worked for several companies as an electrician. Unfortunately, I was retrenched after working there for a few years.

With my savings, I decided to turn my hobby - photography into a career. I opened a small studio where I do still and video photography to this day.

I am married with two children.

My Business

My business deals in still and video photography. I normally cover events such as weddings, anniversaries, documentaries etc. I decided to start this business after realizing that this is something I like to do as a hobby. I also live in an urban area where there is a huge market for photography services. I also sell photography accessories such as frames and photo albums.

My income from this venture is about USD 600 per month where the overheads such as rent and maintenance total to about USD 300. I use the balance to support my young family and to support my aging mother back home.

Loan Proposal

My budget for this money is as follows:

1. Buy assorted picture frames at a total cost of USD 30
2. Buy assorted photo albums at a total cost of USD 20
3. Buy 1 box of photo paper at a total cost of USD 10.

This stock will go a long way in boosting my sales and this timing is crucial because we are now approaching the high season. This will definitely translate into more profit for my business. Thank you.

Dear Lenders, today i made my final repayment of my loan before schedule, this loan has taken me far and i was able to attract more clients into my business from the stock i added when i took the loan,December was a good business season although at one point towards new year i sold on credit which was paid late and was a lesson to me. We are now on an election season here and campaigns are on, a lot of printing of campaign merchandises is in offering and i have already started getting its benefits. I have sold most of the printing materials i had stocked, that's why i was able to repay may loan before schedule. I have also been able to full fill some of promises i had made to my family e.g a new micro ware to my wife, a second hand (good condition) bike to my son during his 11th birthday which was on 06/05/2017. and i still hope to buy a new one to my young lovely daughter on her 5th birthday on 12/06/2017.

Hi leaders, off late as u might have noticed i have not been remitting my loan repayments on time, this has been occasioned by some supply of items i did in the month of December and was not paid on time, this affected my business but luckily on 28th of this month i was paid by cheque, and i hope to pay all my arrears tomorrow on 31st Jan.2017 and continue being punctual in my repayments. Thank You for your endurance.
