I was born on the 22nd, September, 1960. We were born five boys with no girl at all. I am the second born in the family. My elder brother passed on in 1990. My father passed on when I was in standard 6, in 1974. After the death of my father I went to stay with my maternal grandmother in May 1974 until I did my first national exams( Kenya Certificate of Primary Education) in 1975. Incidentally my elder brother had repeated some class, so he also sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in the same year( 1975). I got 36 points in the exams( which is the maximum points in the exams then) while my elder brother got 32 points. Both of us were officially called to join government secondary schools. However since we were orphans both of us could not go to secondary schools because my mother was unemployed then. So the local chief of our area organized for a fundraising to raise money for both of us to join secondary schools. However the amount that was raised could only be sufficient for one of us to go to a secondary school. So I gave my elder brother a first chance to go to the secondary school where he had been called to join while I repeated standard 7 in order to join Starehe Boys Centre and school.
I later sat for Kenya Certificate of Primary Education exams for the second time in 1976 and got 34 points, 2 less than the maximum points of 36. I officially got a letter from Starehe Boys Centre and School to join form one there. I later did my Kenya Advanced Secondary School exams and got a division one.
l am a family man with 4 grown-up children.l worked with Telkom (K) Ltd for 24 years as a telecommunication technician and rose to the rank of a telecommunication engineer. While working with Telkom (K) I also got trained as a Peer Education Facilitator as well as Christian/Muslim Family Life Education Facilitator.
I went to Starehe Boys Centre and School where I attained two Subsidiary passes in Mathematics and Physics.
I was retrenched from Telkom (K) in 2008 thereafter I started keeping Livestock ( one dairy cow and some indigenous poultry)
From the earnings I am able to educate two orphans and four poor students in secondary school. With more income I shall be able to cater for education of many more needy children.
My hobbies are: reading bible, teaching the word of God, teaching about reproductive health and cheering local football and international football.
I am also a pastor with Church on the Rock Ministries in Africa. The church I pastor is situated within the environs of Nakuru town. The church has 40 members( adults and the youth).
I am still running my banana selling business with my wife in Nakuru Wholesale Market. So l intend to buy stock of 90 banana @ $6 per a banana, thereby costing me a total of $540( 54,000 kenya shillings). I also intend to use $250( 25,000 Kenya shillings) to pay my college fees balance in order to graduate with a diploma in Theology and Bible Studies in the month of March, 2019. The rest of the amount will cater for transportation and other logistics.
I have 40 bananas in my store. Each cost me kshs. 600 ( 6 dollars). Total cost of 40 bananas was kshs. 24,000 ( 240 dollars). I get a loan of kshs. 58,000 (580 dollars), I shall purchase 50 more bananas at a cost of( 50x600), kshs. 30,000( 300 dollars). Transportation cost of the bananas from the farm to my stall at the wholesale market is about kshs. 4000( 40 dollars).
I built a house in Kitale with part of the last loan I took from Zidisha( about kshs 39000). I used bricks to build the house. The roof is completed. The doors and windows have been fitted. What is left is plastering the floor and to paint the walls. So the remaining amount of the loan, about kshs. 20,000( 200 dollars), I shall use to plaster the floor and to paint the walls. As soon as the house is ready for occupation I shall take photos and send to you, zidisha, for my lenders to see.
Items to be purchased in finishing the house:
1. One lorry of sand, 7 tonnes at a cost of kshs. 4000 (40 dollars)
2. Eight bags of cement, @kshs 800(8dollars) per a bag, totalling to kshs. 6,400 ( 64 dollars)
3. Twenty five litres of paint @ kshs 250 ( 2.5 dollars) per a liter, totaling to kshs. 6250 (62.5 dollars).
4. The remaining amount, kshs. 3, 350( 33.5 dollars) is for labor.
I am looking forward to be loaned kshs 58,000 (580 dollars) presently, God willing.
Thanking you in advance.
