About Me

Hello, I am Kesler Ombogo Ochieng a 20 year old Chemistry student at the University of Kisii. I live in Nairobi with my family and I plan to start a part time business as I earn my degree for my upkeep in school. Studying quite far from home requires a comfortable sum of money and I plan on making my own.

My Business

My initial proposal to open a cyber to service my campus will unfortunately not be possible following the Corona virus pandemic. Due to strict rules on social distancing and the curfew I had to abandon that business plan and adopt a new one; agribusiness. With money from the previous loan I managed to buy maize and sorghum seeds for our 1 acre family farm and supplementary spinach and tomato seeds to plant in our garden. With a new loan I plan to purchase fertiliser and hire a tractor plough together with some labour to help tend to the farm in the coming months before harvest.

Loan Proposal

I have two patches of crops growing. With the loan I plan to hire the personnel that will help me in harvesting the vegetable patch and prepare the land for different crops. For the second patch I plan to hire a tractor to plough the land and fill the land with the approved fertiliser in readiness for planting of legumes and possibly some fruit.

Income Source

Food is a valuable resource that does not depreciate due to such hard times but rather increases in value. The vegetable patch harvest is due another four days and the market is ready. The second patch needs ploughing by the tractor I will hire.

Animal profit takes longer to come by compared to plant. Time is therefore a much appreciated need.

I would like to greatly appreciate those who believe in what my dream is. With this money I would purchase rabbits, sheep probably goats and some ducks. I plan to build an appropriate structure for them and feed them for maximum profit

I bought seeds to grow, hired local labour to plant them and a tractor to plough the fields. I also bought fertiliser to boost the crop growth and this has helped in realising my project and meet my goal.
