About Me

I have been brought up in a farming family from where I started passion for farming. Having brought up in Central Kenya, poultry farming was not that attractive especially considering the cold climate. However, after completing school and going to the town, I realized that poultry farming is a lucrative business that has the potential to earn one high income. My vision is make Sirndos Farm the leader in indigenous chicken business. My mission is to contribute to a healthy nation by increasing the supply of healthy meet, to address hunger problems while promoting healthy eating.

My Business

Sirndos Farm currently specializes with Indigenous Chicken mainly KARLO Improved Kienyeji. We purchase day-old chicks from suppliers and rear them until about six months when we sell them for meat. In the process, we make some profit. The cycle continues. We intend to invest in incubators so that we not only hatch eggs from our healthy flock, but also engage in research activities to get the best breed mix for our business needs.

Loan Proposal

I will add this money to my savings to purchase feeds for my 50 birds. I require one bag of maize germ to mix with one bag of grower marsh to take my flock through 20 days. One bag of maize germ goes for about $12.2 while a bag of grower marsh goes for about $22.2. If I get this loan and add to my savings, I will purchase enough feeds to take my flock through the month of November after which they will be mature enough to fetch good prices considering that demand will increase as December approaches. In addition, I intend to grow my borrowing limits so that in future I can grow my business to ensure that I sell at least six mature birds a day. Consequently, the business will be able to employ people to take care of the flock and perhaps to sell poultry meat upon opening chicken butcheries.

    Dear Hilde,

I am grateful for funding my loan. I will use it to purchase two trays of fertilized eggs for incubation. This will be the first time I will be using my new 60-eggs incubator. The loan will indeed help me to expand my business.

    Dear lenders,

I take this opportunity to thank you for having lend me money that I have used to enhance my business. I added the previous loan granted to me to my proceeds (after having sold mature birds) to restock and purchase feeds. My birds are doing good now, and I am looking forward to sell them around May this year. My business has really grown because I recently purchased a small incubator. Instead of purchasing day-old chicks at Ksh. 100, I will be incubating eggs from my laying hens. I am planning to purchase two trays of fertilized eggs from a reputable farm that deals with KARLO improved indigenous firms and incubate using my 60-egg incubator. In the future, I envision becoming a leading supplier of healthy day, one week, two weeks, three weeks, one month, and five-months-old chicks/birds.

I sold my chicken during the Christmas holidays. I want to use the proceeds to purchase new stock of day-old chicks. I intend to purchase 100 of them. I expect to sell them during Easter Holidays. I will add the money that you will lend me to my savings and purchase the stock and enough feeds to take them through to April.

    Hello friends,

I started selling my birds, and I am happy that customers are flowing. I am happy the loan you gave me enabled me to purchase feeds to sustain them awaiting selling season. I am hopeful December will be promising in terms of sales. Many thanks indeed.

Heavy rains have negatively affected eggs production. I am now collecting fewer eggs than before.

I realized that returns from sale of eggs is enough to pay KES 150 per week.

Dear sanfransec and Austin Kincaid, I highly appreciate your assistance by funding my load proposal. I will use the proceeds (and my little savings) to purchase feeds (maize germ and grower marsh) for my small flock to take me through one month after which they will be mature for the market.
