About Me

My name is Flavia Kassamani, a 32 year old Kenyan, a mother of 2 beautiful children that motivate me to pursue my dreams and provide a better life for them. I have aways felt like I am destined for greatness and I have a key contribution to play in my society and for the country at large. It is just a nagging feeling I have always had.

My Business

I run a hyacinth recycling business called Kikwetu. This is a business where I utilize hyacinth to make different artifacts - shoes, bags, vikapus and merchandise and sell this for profit.
For me the opportunity came when I realised this harmful weed - hyacinth needs ro be disposed and yet something good can be crafted from it.
For me Kikwetu is the sweet spot that combines a need for authentic Kenyan merchandise plus an avenue to put hyacinth into good use all while providing quality fashionable statements for the society I operate in.

Project Proposal

I will source for more material that is needed to line and supplement the products set for production this month. I will also call in the services of 2 extra women as casuals to increase production of the merchandise

I want to take the opportunity to thank the members that have made this possible. This will go a long way in helping out women in my community who are part of my production team. I'll be sharing the project's progress.

Today I went to the islands for my weekly raw material run and I couldn't be more proud of how beautiful the lake looks like without hyacinth. This is why we do what we do.
