About Me

My name is David Kimani kariuki, a Kenyan male born in 1982. I am the second born in a family of five . I was brought up in Kawangware in Dagorreti constituency Nairobi county. I schooled at Loresho primary school up to class six when we relocated to Githurai 45 after the death of my Father. I completed primary school at Githurai Kimbo and proceeded to Gitare secondary school in Gatundu for my O- level education. I am a talented fine artist, painter, graphic designer and interior designer/decorator. I am now married and have to children. After school I ventured into green grocer business in Githurai market a business I carried for approximately 3 years before venturing into my current milk business where i own a milk bar in Githurai 45.

My Business

I operate a milk bar in Githurai 45where I merchandise fresh ready to drink milk and fresh raw for customers who do take away to cook at home. I get the supply direct from farmers at Gatundu. My customer base is the population of Githurai Estate which is one of the highly populated Estate in Nairobi. This provides a ready market and also a potential for expansion through opening other branches. currently I am selling an average of 300 litres per day. my target is to sell average of 800 litres daily by the end of 2014. With the sale of 300 litres daily I make a profit of ksh18,000( Us Dollars 215) monthly. I have created good relationship with my customers who proudly refer other customers to me.This is a sign of growth in the coming months. The major challenge in my business is the cooling system to keep the milk fresh which I believe with Zidisha It will be sorted out.

Loan Proposal

I intend to add panties and underwear's in my clothes business due to the high demand by customers. Most of my customers are women and they have been demanding them when they buy clothes.I will be buying the panties from a supplier who brings them at a cheaper price and with 350 dollars this will be achievable. This clothes business will create employment to two more people since the business will be big and will demand more attention to my customers. My business will have solved someones else problem.I will also be able to cater for my needs through the profits i get especially in the area of educating my children and also providing for my families needs each day.I will be able to pay my house rents on time and even taking my family to vacation will be possible all because of zidisha helping me boost my clothes business.I expect to get in return 9 dollars a day from just selling panties as a profit excluding the other clothes. That will even give me more ideas on what my customers will need .
