About Me

I am Yuvenalis Mogire. I went to school at Sengera; although I had struggles with life working in our shamba and grazing livestock, I managed to finish O levels. Later I did a certificate in business administration in St. Ann College in Kisii town. After school, I secured a job with the municipal council, from which I managed to save money to start my business. I have three kids whom I am schooling and supporting fully.

My Business

After saving, I bought three-week chicks that I personally reared and I liked the idea. After my first sales, I started to rear indigenous chickens (Kienyeji chickens) which I sell to nearby hotels. I opted to raise Kienyeji chickens because of the harsh cold weather here; the indigenous chickens adapt well to the weather. I also sell eggs. I make a profit of USD $1,200 per month, which I use to feed my family and pay school fees for the children.

Loan Proposal

I am requesting for funds to buy more feeding equipment for my chickens and additional chicks to replace the aging chickens.

One feeding trough will cost me USD $8, and I will buy 15 of them. Young chicks will cost me USD $100. With this new equipment, my chickens will have good health, thus more production. After buying young chicks, I will be able to dispose of the aging ones. With the proceeds I will be able to pay this loan and refresh my venture. With good earnings I will be able to pay my bills and improve the living standards of my family.
