About Me

My Name is Willy Bett, I live in Uthiru, Kabete that is the outskirts of Nairobi City. I am over 30 years old. Due to financial constraints in my family I managed to study until high school and after that I could not proceed with my studies due to lack of fees and I was forced to look for employment. I have been working with a curio shop since the age of 20 until now as a salesman. This job has been the breadwinner for my family and my sustenance and also I have been saving some little for personal business. Currently I'm planning to provide door to door services to my clients in order to stay competitive in the business and meet the clients demands.

My Business

Having worked in a curio shop for 9 years has moulded me enough to think of creating my own business idea. After interaction with some of the curio clients, I decided to venture into online curio business in order to satisfy the untapped market. When the tourist season is low, sales margins are also low hence the need to diversify and provide clients with curios at their convenient locations such as offices and their homes. I have been doing this for the last 3 years but faced some challenges especially in terms of logistics as I had to hire drivers for my delivery services. This had a negative impact on the profits since the cost of hiring a motorcycle rider is high in Kenya.

Loan Proposal

The Zidisha loan helped improve my curios business and i am so grateful to the organization for this amazing funds. After doing some of the savings i would like to seek another loan to add to my college tuition fee, for my entrepreneurship course. With $ 101.1 i will supplement with my savings. This loan will help in finishing my entrepreneurship course. The course will add me more skills about entrepreneurship and management of my personal business and i believe i will be more competitive i the field on business once i clear. After the course i yearn to improve further my business and reach more markets and from the profits i earn i will use to develop my family and myself. I am grateful for any support which will come to me.
