I was born in Siaya County 36 years ago. Am married with three children, two boys Luis Sindha, Jeremy Sindha and Taliah Ayona. During the time I was growing up, there was a lot of poverty especially in the community where I hail from. This was a time when people had not discovered going to school and if there is any who considered going to school, very few members of the community went for further studies especially outside our community area. this was due to jealousy which was rampant.
Despite this, Some of us managed to overcome these hardships and advanced to at least higher levels.
I joined Primary school there and graduated with a Kenya Certificate of Primary Education and later I was to transfer to Nairobi where my Father had relocated to. I then joined a City High school called Jamuhuri which was by then one of the most senior and respected schools in the City.I completed my Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education later and earned a University entry grade. But due to lack of finance and since my parents had retired from the Civil service where they worked, I decided to start my own business. I have previously ventured into several types of business but I later settled on Beauty and Hair dressing where my Wife is the manager. I also secured a job as a Center manager at a local college where I work up to now.
As I have already mentioned above, my business is typically Beauty and cosmetics shop plus Hair dressing combined with a barber shop commonly known as (Kinyozi) in Swahili.
I thank God for my wife because she has been a source of motivation to me even when am so so down psychologically. Since we established this business two years ago, we have really grown tremendously from one step to the other. In my area, there are a lot of women who like dressing their hair, its an estate where you cant a afford to miss a beauty shop. also the school going children in my area shaves their hair almost on a five day basis. these are some of the reasons that triggered me to start this kind of business. I also found that my wife was an expert in beauty and hair dressing therapy, I saw it wise to open the business.
I thank God because this business pays school fees for our two boys who are in class 1 and 2 respectively at a local academy, we also save for our future investments at home county, not forgetting the house rent which also comes from the business.
On a good day, we earn 3000Kes and when things have gone hey wire, we raise 700Kes daily. We now seek to revamp our business to make it one of the best and biggest in Mathare area and also create job employment for more than 6 youth. currently we have 2 who help us in running the business.
Dear lenders, I have already mentioned from above typically what my business entails. I wish to state that Through the money that am set to raise here at Zidisha, I will add the stock and expand the shelves of the premise. I intend to use 45 Dollars for refurbishment of the current shelves and furniture to modern ones, then 50dollars will go towards bringing some chemicals for hair dressing which have gone out of stock, then I will also use 17dollars for the people who will help me design my new and upgraded Business. this amounts to 112 dollars.
Here am seeking to raise 100dollars, then the amount on top I will add from my savings to see the whole work complete. I promise results in the next few days to come. Kind regards.
