About Me

My name is Kumi Damoah Obed.I come from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region. I started my basic school at Akab Complex School, i furthered my education from there to Sunyani senior high school in Sunyani. My parents are farmers by profession hence all my education cost was funded by their product earns from the farm. In life it takes one’s own imagination to be poor or rich, thus you can identify a problem and solve it. when I completed my secondary education, due to my conscientious ability towards work, and courtesy that i have for people i was employed in a store and began to identify the needs of the community. With the little savings made, i started my own farm. My hobbies are reading and listening to music.

My Business

I am a commercial farmer ,I grow horticulture for sale to my villagers and and friends.I always irrigate my farm during dry seasons through the manual way by using watering can of which I use to fetch water to water the crops. Because of insufficient water supply to the crops due to larger state of the farm, supply for vegetables is low and as such I only get premium prices for my goods.
The demand for my goods is always high because of growth in population and reduced arable land .Most urban families depend on farmers like me to supply them with vegetables.

Loan Proposal

Initially i used $70 to buy pesticides and also half of the amount to buy spare parts to repair the spraying machine that i used to spray the farm. i had revenue of $30 - $40 per month . with this revenue range i get $60 of profit in good month. but now due to economical meltdown, prices of imported products as well spare parts has increased drastically and because i employ these materials in my farming business, it has eventually raised my cost of production. This is to the fact that i cannot buy enough pesticide to spray the farm leading to the crops producing less fruit. This has made my dwindled. now i only make $30 of profit in a good month. I cannot used this revenue to feed my family not to talk of reinvesting into the farm. This loan will enable me to buy more pesticides and also repair broken machines with which together i will be able to produce more and earn more. I promise to pay back on time.
