About Me

My name is Kumi Damoah Obed.I come from Berekum in the Brong Ahafo Region. I started my basic school at Akab Complex School, i furthered my education from there to Sunyani senior high school in Sunyani. My parents are farmers by profession hence all my education cost was funded by their product earns from the farm. In life it takes one’s own imagination to be poor or rich, thus you can identify a problem and solve it. when I completed my secondary education, due to my conscientious ability towards work, and courtesy that i have for people i was employed in a store and began to identify the needs of the community. With the little savings made, i started my own farm. My hobbies are reading and listening to music.

My Business

I am a commercial farmer ,I grow horticulture for sale to my villagers and and friends.I always irrigate my farm during dry seasons through the manual way by using watering can of which I use to fetch water to water the crops. Because of insufficient water supply to the crops due to larger state of the farm, supply for vegetables is low and as such I only get premium prices for my goods.
The demand for my goods is always high because of growth in population and reduced arable land .Most urban families depend on farmers like me to supply them with vegetables.

Loan Proposal

First of all, I would like to thank zidisha and their lenders for this opportunity given to people like us to benefit from their loan. The impeccable God bless you all and your source of income. With my second loan, in fact it really help me to reach my target. what would i do with the help of my noble lender, it is all your doing. Now I need the help of my lenders again to increase my production rate because we are in the raining season and is the time for planting of crops. i need to buy more pesticide since my vegetable are in highly demand, i have to increase production by buying more pesticides and increased the rate of production by cultivating more lands.Initially i used $70 to buy pesticides and also half of the amount to buy spare parts to repair the spraying machine that i used to spray the farm, as in my second loan but now that all my sparing machines is working i will use it to purchase more pesticides and hired people's to help me preparing another land for more crops. i had revenue of $50 - $60 per month . with this revenue range i get $60 of profit in good month. but now due to economical meltdown, prices of imported products has increased drastically and because i employ these agro chemical in my farming business, it has eventually raised my cost of production. This is to the fact that i cannot buy enough pesticide to spray the farm leading to low productivity. This has made me dwindled. now i only make $40 of profit in a good month. I cannot used this revenue to feed my family not to talk of reinvesting into the farm. This loan will enable me to buy more pesticides and help my to prepare enough land for the crop, with which together i will be able to produce more and earn more. I promise to go by the rule regarding repaying.
