About Me

I am Bernice Kyerewa fromBattor in the Volta region. My two parents are disabled so life has been more than hell for us. Our neighbours used to mock us because we hardly had three square meals a day. In fact, the best word that describes us was "paupers".
It was so bad that, we started positioning ourselves around the Battor Catholic hospital, begging to survive. This continued for about two(2) years but on one fortunate day, we met the Catholic priest who after interrogating us insisted that, we take him to our parents which we gladly did. Hmmm.....the priest cried uncontrollably because of our condition/situation when we sent him to our house.
He promised to send us to the Catholic school where we would attend school free; and also added that, he would ensure that the church takes care of our needs.
After completing the vocational school, I started making and selling tie and dye fabrics but the market was not good for the fabric or material.

My Business

I am into retailing of children's clothes and production of local tie and die fabrics.
At the initial stage of my tie and die business, I went to Accra and located ten(3) big wholesale shops dealing in different kinds of fabrics. I narrated my story and pleaded with the creditors to supply the goods to me on account and give me a month to pay back. They accepted my proposal and gave me the goods as agreed upon. I make a total daily sales of GH¢10.00 . This helped me to pay my suppliers/creditors on time.
Profits generated from my business will be partly used to settle my debts and the remaining will be ploughed back into the business.

Loan Proposal

Dear Lenders,
The Easter festival is very much celebrated or observed in my area. As such, sales normally increases during this period. Consequently, I write to request for a loan of GHS 204.00 to enable me buy more of children's clothes (dresses) against Easter.
This would position me to expand my business.
Thank you all.

I went and bought the dresses last week but the demand of the dresses has gone down. As a result of this incident, I write to reduce the repayment amount and would increase the amount when the demand of the dresses increases.
    Thank you.

Just as when I received the loan and bought some fabrics to stock my shop/store, sales have gone down. As a result of this, I wish to reduce my repayment amount so that I will not default payment. I promise to increase it when sales improve.
    Thank you.
